BLOOD DOESN'T LIE A Story of Blood, Betrayal and Destiny By: walidah_hm Chapter 9 – A New Cry Before sunrise... The Singhania Mansion was still wrapped in silence. Then— A sharp cry echoed through the hallway. "Raj!" Sakshi gripped the edge of the bed, her face pale. "I... I think it's time." Raj sat up instantly. "What?" Another pain shot through her body. She shut her eyes tightly. "Call the doctor..." "Hurry." Within minutes... The quiet mansion turned into chaos. Vaani rushed downstairs with a shawl. Mahesh picked up the car keys. Dhuraya stood before the small prayer altar, her prayer beads slipping through her fingers. "Protect my daughter-in-law," she whispered. "Bring both mother and child home safely." Outside... The family car sped through the waking streets of Mumbai. At City Care Hospital... Nurses wheeled Sakshi toward the maternity ward. Raj tried to follow. A nurse stopped him with a gentle smile. "We'll take good care of her." "The waiting area is this way." The doors closed. Raj stared at them. His hands were shaking. Hours passed. The waiting room felt unusually quiet. Mahesh walked over with two cups of tea. "Drink." Raj shook his head. "I can't." Mahesh placed a hand on his shoulder. "I know you're worried." "But worrying won't make time move faster." Raj managed a weak smile. Across the room... Dhuraya silently whispered prayers. Vaani sat beside her. "Mother..." "She'll be alright." Dhuraya nodded. "She must." Inside the delivery room... Sakshi held the bedrail tightly. Sweat covered her forehead. Another contraction came. She cried out. The doctor remained calm. "You're doing well." "Just breathe." Sakshi shook her head. "I can't..." "You can." One nurse gently wiped her forehead. "You're stronger than you think." Sakshi remembered Naina. For a second... Fear tightened around her heart. "Please..." "I don't want to die." The doctor looked at her. "One more push." "You can do this." Sakshi gathered every bit of strength she had. Then— A baby's cry filled the room. Loud. Strong. Beautiful. The room relaxed instantly. The doctor smiled. "Congratulations." "It's a healthy baby girl." Tears rolled down Sakshi's cheeks. "Is..." "Is she alright?" The doctor nodded. "And so are you." Relief washed over Sakshi. She closed her eyes. "Thank You..." The nurse carefully wrapped the baby in a soft pink blanket before placing her gently in Sakshi's arms. The tiny girl yawned. Then wrapped her tiny fingers around Sakshi's index finger. Sakshi stared at her daughter. For the first time... The proud woman who rarely showed softness... Smiled with pure love. "My little girl..." Outside... The delivery room doors opened. Everyone stood at once. The doctor smiled. "Congratulations." "Mother and baby are both healthy." Raj let out a long breath. He hadn't realized he had been holding it. "Can I see them?" "Of course." A few moments later... Raj stepped quietly into the room. Sakshi looked up. Their eyes met. Without saying a word... She held out the baby. Raj carefully took his daughter into his arms. She was so small... So peaceful. He smiled through tears. "Hello, little princess." "You've already made your father cry." Sakshi laughed softly. The sound surprised even her. Raj looked at his wife. "You were so brave." She smiled. "I was terrified." "I know." "But you still did it." He gently kissed her forehead. "I'm proud of you." Soon... The rest of the family entered. Dhuraya was the first to reach the bed. She looked at the baby with shining eyes. "My granddaughter..." "What a beautiful blessing." Mahesh smiled warmly. "Our family keeps growing." Vaani leaned closer. "Can I hold her?" Sakshi nodded. Carefully... Vaani lifted the baby into her arms. The little girl blinked sleepily before settling comfortably against her. "She's beautiful." Pooja and Kumar stood respectfully near the door. Pooja smiled. "Congratulations, Bhabhi." "May she always bring happiness." Kumar folded his hands. "May God bless her with a long life." Deepak peeked from behind Pooja's saree. "So tiny..." Everyone laughed. Vishu, still a baby, sat in Kumar's arms, staring curiously at the newborn. Later that evening... The family gathered around to choose a name. Suggestions filled the room. Finally... Dhuraya smiled. "I have one." Everyone looked at her. "Kiara." The room became quiet. Raj repeated it softly. "Kiara..." Sakshi looked at her sleeping daughter. A gentle smile touched her lips. "I like it." Mahesh nodded. "Then it's settled." "Our little princess will be called..." "Kiara Singhania." Outside the hospital window... The evening sky glowed with shades of orange and gold. Inside... Two children slept peacefully. Vishu. Kiara. No one could have imagined... That one day... These two children would grow up side by side. And fate... Would write their names together in ways no one expected. To Be Continued... 🩸✨
