Episode 7: Wonderings

"L-Lucas?"
"Yes baby?"
"Quit hugging me... and don't call me baby."
"O-oh! I'm so sorry. Did I startle you?" Lucas becomes worried. He was so aggressive, to the point the he hugs Ava without asking her permission.
Meanwhile, Ava can't think properly. This is the first man who gave her a hug, aside from his father of course. But he never experienced this kind of hug even when she's with Tyler before.
"I-I'm fine." The heck! Why am I like this? I'm stammering like hell.
Lucas sensed the awkward atmosphere between them, specially for Ava. She can't look in his eyes. She keeps looking everywhere but not to him.
"Well, let's go back inside."
Ava just nodded her head and the first one to walk back inside the restaurant. Lucas just heave a sigh.
This will be a long process, patience Lucas!
When they entered the private room, everyone was into their own conversation before they turned to them.
"So, what did you talk about?" Don Alejandro asks them when the of them is finally seated.
Lucas just looked at Ava before clearing his throat. Actually, it's hard to come up to a plan since the girl doesn't give him any proper answer or decision.
"Well, don't plan about marriage yet." Lucas answered before looking at Ava whose also looking at him, wondering why he said those things. "As what you have said earlier, Ava doesn't remember me. She barely known me. Let us date for a while first, so she has time to know me better."
"That's a good idea. Dating before marriage? Not bad." Ava's dad, Greg agreed. "I also like to know you. After all, it's been years since we saw you."
This is harder than I thought. Now I have to court her parents too... Lucas thought to his self.

Ava has no classes today but it's a wonder that she woke up early. So she just keeps rolling in her bed. Yesterday's event still bothers her. She doesn't know what to say to him. She learned yesterday from Don Alejandro that his son is in his 30's now, and owns a different company with different affiliates. Why doesn't he dated anyone around his age? Did he wait for me? Sure there's a lot of pretty and sophisticated girls in the same industry as his, such as CEO's daughters. Why me anyway? I'm just an average girl with an attitude.
Ava snap out of his reverie when she heard a knock and her door, then her sister comes in.
"What?" she asked.
"Yes Sis, good morning too." Ava looked at Mace. Sometimes she's thinking they got the same attitude, though Mace is just a 10-year old girl. "Anyway, you should get up. Because someone's waiting for you outside."
"It's still early for visitors."
"Just get up okay? You don't want to keep him waiting."
"I'll just take a shower. I feel sticky."

Ava finished showering and wore an over-sized shirt and a sweat pants. Then she just blow dry her hair without combing it.
While she's heading outside her room, she keeps asking questions about who's the visitor. Her sister just could tell it to her.
To her shock, she saw Lucas is in their dining area. What the hell is this? Sometimes, she wonders how close is Lucas to her parents before. She doesn't know everything, alright?
"What the--What are you doing here?" Ava almost shouted. They're not that close, okay? She still have to be civil with this guy.
"Good morning... Ava." Lucas greeted. Well, it's not 'good' anymore. She feels different whenever Lucas call her name. She kind of hated it.
"Well, good morning to my beautiful daughter." her mom greeted her too, she just saw her dad nodded at her then continued reading newspapers while having a coffee. "We're almost done with breakfast. But Lucas waited for you so you could eat together."
She then looked at Lucas, whose looking at her intently. "Oh! Okay."
"Anyway, Aunt Lila, Uncle Greg... can I bring Ava to the office today? I want her to be familiar with me and what I'm doing." Lucas asked her parents' permission. Ava looked at her parents, she give them the 'I-don't-wanna-go-with-this-guy' look.
But her mom just laugh it off, "Why not? Yes, you can bring her."
Oh! F*ck. I'm literally stuck with this guy.
