She was about to kick me again when a loud roar shook all of us,it sounded scary but it strangely appeased me and I found myself closing my eyes to the voice that had growled words that took me a while to process.
"GET THE f**K AWAY FROM MY MATE!!!"
{Unknown P.O.V.}
After the whole boring transfer of titles,we were finally excused to eat and Jacob quickly ran over to where the buffet tables lay while I walked around, taking a look at things.
I conversed with a couple of older Alphas that I knew of and respected, listening to their experiences and moving on to the next Alpha as soon as they decided to start introducing their daughters,it was like everyone was secretly here for some kind of mate finding linkup.
I walked around while avoiding all of the females I came in contact with and sent a derogatory look to Jacob who had two young looking girls falling all over him, he mind linked me when he realized why I was glaring at him.
"Jesus Man,What do you take me for? I already made sure they are not underage,they showed me some pretty fascinating claws".
I shook my head and was about to reply him when a scent invaded me.My wolf was immediately stirred awake and began to search for the source of the scent.
"MATE",He howled.
I tried to follow the scent calmly but Jack was growing crazy from the sweetness of the scent and wanted to go faster.
I paused when I detected a change in the smell,I took off as soon as I discovered what the change was,blood.
Jack surfaced as soon as he saw our mate,she lay in a ball on the floor while the former Luna of Crimson moon and another woman kicked out beautiful mate.
Jack roared in anger, wanting to shred the legs that had dared to kick our mate.
"GET THE f**K AWAY FROM MY MATE!!!"
I was by their side in a moment, throwing the Luna and the other girl off their feet while Jacob caught up to me, trying to grasp the situation.
I scooped my mate into my hands,another wave of anger flooding me as I saw her beautiful face that was bloody.
"What is going on, Alpha?"
I had no idea what to say so I just whispered "Mate" and Jacob understood instantly.
"BRING A DOCTOR NOW!"I roared.
Jacob took off to find the doctor while I tried to be as gentle as possible as I moved my late from the ground.
"I am Dr. Smith," an elderly man said as he came running up to me.
I went after him, making sure that my mate did not get more injured than necessary.
I lay her on an examination table and the doctor immediately gets to work.
He raises her shirt up and it takes a lot of will power for me to not attack him for that.
But soon,I begin to growl and the doctor gets scared.
"Doctor, please continue, disregard him",Jacob advises as he encourages the doctor to get to work.
The doctor looks up at me and I stand straighter.
"I need to get X-rays done".
I nod and he wheels her into another room and returns a few minutes later.
I wait for him to give me an update.
He shows me an image and points at a part of it.
"Luckily,only that Rib was fractured".
"I also did a quick ultrasound , and there is thankfully no internal bleeding in her abdomen or her head. She may wake up with a concussion,but overall,she should fully heal within 48 hour."
I sighed, relieved to find out that my mate would be okay.
"I will put on her an IV drip with some morphine to help with the pain".
"Thank you",I say as he inserts the IV into the back of her hand and injects the tubing with a syringe full of morphine.
"Alpha, while she rests, may I speak with you in private please?",The doctor requests.
"Whatever needs to be said can be said in front of my Beta",I tell him sternly.
"Very well then".
He moves to close the door and returns to take a seat next to the bed that my mate lay.
"Alpha, while looking over her x-rays,I saw multiple remodeled fractures, and breaks in most of her bones,"
"What?What are you trying to say?"
"I know her very well, and I know that this is not the first time she has been beaten, this is just the first time she's ever received medical attention".
"Are you telling me that my mate has suffered multiple injuries without medical attention?!"
"Yes,that is exactly what I am saying".
"She's a pack member! What kind of bullshit is that!?" Jacob exclaimed.
"Technically, she is not a pack member,"the doctor professed.
"Excuse me?"
"She's not a pack member. She was orphaned when she was about ten and was brought to the pack,she was then made into the packhouse slave".
"SLAVE?!" both Jacob and I growl when we hear this.
"Where does she come from? Where is her family!?",I ask trying to hold back my anger.
"I don't know, I have only been the doctor now for about six years, she was already here when I arrived. She was about twelve when I met her , and she was already covered in bruises, and I could tell she had some injuries that were never quite healed".
"Were the beatings Alpha Stone's doing?"I asked.
"Everyone had a hand in it. Even the lowest-ranked Omegas beat her , and it was mostly because she would talk back".
"Did you witness this?",Jacob asked .
"No,but people in this packhouse talk, and pissed off ones talk even louder".
I could feel my anger getting the best of me, and Jack trying to resurface. I had to put so much effort into keeping him back .
"Be honest me with doctor, have you ever hit her ?",I growled.
"No,I would never harm a child or person for that matter. I am a doctor , and it is my duty to treat everyone with kindness and respect, however, when it came to this poor child , I was not allowed to..",he was immediately Interrupted by Jacob.
"Not allowed to? Are you f*****g joking right now?",Jacob scoffed in disbelief.
"I'm sorry Beta, but I am not",The doctor answered Seriously.
"The Alpha had prohibited me from ever giving her medical attention. I know of her story, but I honestly don't even know her name . She's not even in the pack database",Doctor Smith revealed.
"What do you know about her?"I asked.
"Only that she has a fighting spirit, but a broken soul and she is quite young. My understanding from rumors is that her birthday was three days ago, she just turned 18".
"WHAT?!",I yelled.
