As we stepped out of the time machine and arrived back in present-day Kerala, the air felt different, charged with uncertainty. Nivin looked around, his eyes wide with disbelief. "What just happened? Are we really back?" he exclaimed, his voice echoing in the empty alley.
I chuckled nervously, trying to process everything myself. "Yeah, we're back. But something feels off," I replied, scanning the familiar streets that now seemed alien in the dusk.
Aju, the guy we met in the future, ran a hand through his hair, a mix of fear and excitement in his eyes. "I can't believe I'm here. What do we do now?" he asked, his voice trembling with anticipation.
"We need to figure out how to blend in and not draw any attention to ourselves," Nivin suggested, his voice low and urgent.
Suddenly, a loud clatter echoed down the alley, making us all freeze in place. "Did you hear that?" I whispered, my heart racing in my chest.
A moan followed, eerie and haunting, sending shivers down our spines. "Let's get out of here," Aju urged, grabbing my arm as we hurried away, the echoes of screams and laughter haunting us as we disappeared into the night.
