"No, actually! She is not around. She had something urgent to attend to yet again!'' It was finally my time to use the lying to my advantage. Of course she had no urgent errant waiting for her, I did not even know where she had left to so she could give Corbin and I the space I asked for.
"oh? She isn't?" The words barely left his mouth and a second after he felt the need to clear his throat, which he was also doing as silently as possible, almost as though he was shy about it.
What had gotten into him? Was my touch really that powerful?
"yes! She is nowhere in this house or yard!"
