No matter how much I wished I could, taking back the words was not a thing I could achieve. The look of intrigue on his face meant he would not just let me say apologies for letting my tongue slip and immediately shove it to the back of his mind.
On the bright side though, it looked a lot like the mere mention of his daughter's name and the idea of putting the blame on her was enough to divert his attention away from Emelio.
