Chapter 2

********** Olivia's POV**********

My head was on aunt's lap and her dress was now extremely wet with my tears.What went wrong?Mum was fine yesterday ,she was active and was happy for my job .Today i woke her up to bid her farewell but she wasn't waking up.I sprinkled water on her face thinking that she fainted in her sleep but no positive results.We ended up rushing her to the hospital but it's been 1 hour and nothing from the doctor

me:"what went wrong aunt"

Aunt rubbed my back.

me :" she's my only family aunty without her im nothing .what will become of me if something happens to mum"

phone rang.I took it out.Its a private number.

me:"aunt I'll be back"

She nodded and i went to a corner.I wiped my tears and cleared my throat before answering .

me:"Olivia morris here"

Caller:"Ms Olivia are you coming in today"

I recognized that voice .

me:"mr Milton?"

Caller:"yes.I wanted to inquire if you coming because its been 2 hours.Do you still want the job because i want all my employees to be here before i go back to my usual job."

I broke down into tears.What if i lose this job,i can't lose it no matter what.We have bills to pay and mum 's savings are almost over ,just 1K left.

me:"no no no no ..no no no...no please please..no sir.I--I--I i still want it Please don't...I--I need this job bec........... "

he interrupted my sentence

ray:"calm down Olivia.breathe in and out".

i did that but my tears were still flowing.

Ray:"what's wrong"

me:"my mum is..She's..."(i couldn't stop the tears and i let out a loud cry.Im angry at my dad for traumatizing me when i was just a little girl,im angry at him for leaving me alone and letting me go through such things.im angry at that little girl who was scared to tell her mum about her dad being pedophile just because of her mum's heart problem.Im angry at that teenager who denied to sleep with her father and ended up driving away her father from her mum's life.if only i had slept with him then he wouldn't have left and mum would be okay.id be leading a normal life .Im just angry at myself.im just.......)

Ray:"Hello Olivia are you okay?"(there seemed to be a network problem because i couldn't hear him clearly.the voice was breaking )

me:"he-hello?"

the call had already disconnected.

*********** Raymond's POV*******

I quickly took my car keys.i took my phone and called Innocent(my IT guy) while rushing to the elevator

me:"innocent track this number that I'm sending you.I want the location now!!!"

I hung up and sent him the number.in less that 5 minutes i had the location and i was driving there.I know that Olivia is not okay and I'm not going to leave her alone in such a time.Yes i don't know her that much but i can't ignore how i feel about her.Maybe its just an infatuation but i gotta be there for her.I rushed to the hospital where she's supposed to be.I was there in 15 minutes.I went to the reception.

The receptionist screamed upon seeing me

Receptionist:"guys come and see my crush Raymond Milton!!!!"

she shouted and some of the staff if not all of them came to the reception.

me:"i don't have time for this.Where is olivia Morris .?"

I replied that in an intimidating tone and all the staff left and the receptionist was shaking while looking for the details on her computer

Receptionist:"3rd floor"

i didn't waste time.I ran fast and i went to the ward.she was crying while talking to the doctor.

******** Olivia's POV********

The doctor finally came to us.apparently mum nolonger needs the aortic valve replacement surgery because she now needs a heart transplant .She had a heart attack today and other thing is that we delayed the aortic valve replacement surgery so we have to replace the heart.I don't even know where to start

Me:"Doctor you said the heart transplant is 2 million including the hospital costs"

doctor:"yes ma'am but if she stays longer due to a slow recovery then it may become a bit more expensive.I suggest you pay now so that we start now because if we delay we may lose your mother"

I felt my whole world shatter.My head was already spinning.i stumbled and was about to fall when someone caught me.i looked at that tall figure.its Mr Milton.why is he here?

Ray:"Hello doctor im raymond milton. Because it's risky to transfer her to my hospital we should conduct the transplant here.Start with the transplant now and when she is out of danger move her to my hospital R.Milton Hospital"

Doctor:"yes Mr Milton but there is a problem.we don't have the heart"

Mr Raymond removed his phone from his pocket.

Ray:"James i want a heart delivered to this location.It should be here in 30minutes."

james:"..........."

Mr Raymond hung up.

ray:"the heart will be here in 30mins.i'll go and pay at the reception"

the doctor nodded then left with the team.When aunt saw that we need to talk she went to sit by the bench.I folded my hands

me:"Sir.i know that my mum needs this transplant and thank you so much.I promise to pay you back everymonth."

ray:"no need.i just have one condition"

One condition????Could this mean a new life for Olivia..

ME:"you have to be my wife and my surrogate.Surrogate meaning that we will have children but not in the natural way"

She looked at me for a long time.yes i know it's strange,i just met her but i know that i need a wife like her .She's perfect and she needs the money,i need a wife

liv:"What do you mean sir"

me:"that I'm going to give you 10 Million for being my wife,10Million for being my surrogate each time we have a baby meaning that 20million for 2babies."

She looked at me .She was smiling but tears were falling

liv:"look how stupid i am .I thought you helped me out of humanity sake but instead you have other motives.You know what get this thing straight RAYMOND MILTON-MONEY CAN BUY ALL THINGS BUT IT CAN'T BUY ME .I plead you to please go away from here.I'll make a plan on my own .NOW JUST LEAVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!(she shouted the last part.)

The woman she was with came.

woman:"Olie.are you okay?"

Liv:"yes aunt.I just had to get rid of this excuse of a man.Aunt i have to arrange the money for mum's heart transplant.I'll leave now"

Her aunt nodded and went to sit down.when Liv was about to leave i held her hand .

me:"The heart is coming from me.Go and organize the money anywhere that you wish,you can even go and open your legs,judging by your personality that's what you are best at.Open those legs to every guy you see on the street but by the time the heart reaches here your mum will be dead.Goodluck!"

i turned to leave but this time she held my arm.

Her:"I was brought up with values ,im not stupid like you to ask someone you barely know to carry your child and be your wife.RAYMOND MILTON YOU ARE SICK.GET OUT AND NEVER SHOW YOUR FACE TO ME.YOU DISGUST ME SIES!"

With that she left me fuming.What is she going to do?Get a loan?She's Crazy to think that they'll allow her when she doesn't even have a source of income.Just to be safe i called all the banks in this city and she's not going to get a loan.i also called all hospitals in this city,no heart for her.Olivia Morris let me see how you will save your mother .I yearn to here you apologize and take back all your words .Let the fun begin.

******** Olivia's Pov*****

I went back home.I changed into a simple long plain white dress with string sleeves.Im now sitting on the couch crying,thats all i can do.i don't know what to do.I didn't get any loan or find any heart for mum.My phone rang disturbing me.I wiped my tears.its a landline

Me:"Olivia Morris here"

Caller:"Hello Ms Morris. Its doctor Smith.Please be quick with the payment .No payment no transplant"

Me:"just give me an hour doctor please take care of my mum"

doctor:"Ms Morris please don't delay .Your mother's life is in your hands"

me:"Yes Doctor.Goodbye"

Doctor:"i hope to see you soon"

he hung up

His sentence 'your mother's life is in your hands ' echoed in my mind.I don't have an option anymore.I dialed Raymond's Contact.He immediately picked up like he was waiting for my call.

Ray:"R.Milton hello"

me:"I'm ready "

ray:"Im at the gate of your home.i'll be inside with the contract soon"

he hung up.i feel like he's the reason why i couldn't get any positive results,sick man.I heard a knock at the door and i went to open.He sat down on the couch and crossed his legs.I sat opposite him.

Me:"sir may we please be fast in this.Mum needs the transplant soon"

Ray:"were you thinking about your mum when you told me that 'MONEY CAN BUT ANYTHING BUT IT CAN'T BUY ME"

I looked down.I was so rude back then.

Ray:"it doesn't work that way babygirl.in my whole life no one has ever disrespected me like that.Come and kneel down and apologize"

me:"what!!!"

He had a smirk on his face.i have to do this for my mum.I knelt in front of him.

me:"im so sorry sir"

ray:"for"

me:"d--disrespecting you"

Ray:"now say it in one sentence"

me:"im sorry for disrespecting you"

Ray:"louder"

i have never been so humiliated in my entire life.I was crying

Me:"I'm sorry for disrespecting you"(i was louder this time"

Ray:"one last thing.Say this sentence "Mr Milton money buys everything including me"

what!!!!!

ray:"time is running out remember"

i looked down

me:"Money buys everything including me but if i wasn't vulnerable then money wouldnt buy me"

ray:"We'll talk when you get serious"

for my mum's sake.........

Me:"Mr Milton money buys everything including me"

he smirked.

ray:"fine come lets sign the agreement.I already paid .The transplant started long ago but i told the doctor to call you and make you realize your mistake.(what!!!!).Let's get to serious business"

I was shaking while receiving the contract.

I,Olivia M.Morris ,i am going to become Raymond Milton's Wife till i breath my last breath(What!!!)

I stopped reading the contract

me:"am i going to be your wife forever?"

ray:"yes.With allowance of $1Million a month.At work you'll be getting $50 000 for your salary"

me:"I also want to live a life freely.i don't want to live in a loveless marriage forever"

Ray nodded.

ray:"i understand.I'll leave now "

He took the contract from me and left.just like that??Something is definitely wrong.I have to go and see if my mum is okay.i took some money and hiked a taxi.When i arrived at the hospital i was told something that shocked me.

Me:"You mean that my mum is no longer getting the heart transplant"

Receptionist:"Yes.Crushie stopped it"

me:"Crushie??who's Crushie?"

Receptionist:"Raymond Milton"

I ran to mum's ward which is the emergency ward.i was about to enter her ward but i was stopped.

doctor:"you can't go in."

me:"but why."

doctor:"ma'am I'm busy please leave"

i left defeated.why did he stop me.Raymond suddenly called

ray"Are you ready for the contract"

me:"please start the surgery.I'm ready to do This"

Ray:"there's a black car without numberplates outside.Get in and it will bring you to my house.You are starting to stay with me today.The surgery didn t stop,i can't risk someone's life like that"

He hung up and tears fell.

********Raymond's Pov********

i didn't intend to blackmail Liv but i got a call from mum's doctor.Mum was threatening to kill herself because according to her there's no reason for her to live,she has no daughter in law ,no granchildren,very dramatic i know.my mum is so annoying sometimes.I went to her house and told her that I'm bringing her daughter-in-law home and I'm going to introduce her next week.I don't know why mum forces me to get a wife because im just 25 ,im not even that grown up but what can i say,i promised dad to fulfill all her wishes.Im now waiting for Liv to come here.I told the receptionist to tell her that she's no longer in the Emergency room but it's just pretending,the transplant already started 3 hours ago .

****30 minutes later****

I heard the bell ringing.I know that it's Malvin who has come with Olivia because only people who usually come here can enter this house without me knowing because the guards will just stop you at the gate and I'll be informed about it.I took the remote and the main door opened.Liv came in with Malvin.She had red puffy eyes and looked pale .I nodded for malvin to leave.As soon as Malvin left ,Olivia knelt down and folded her hands

me:"what are you doing".

I was really shocked.

Olivia:"I know that im your wife but i have a request,Please allow me to be with my mum up until the surgery is done.You know how risky the transplant is.I have to be there,i can't abandon my mum when she needs me the most."

I looked at her eyes that had tears.I helped her to stand up and i enveloped her in a hug.

me:"please don't cry"

She cried harder.

Liv:"what if i lose my mum"

Thats when it hit me that i forgot about how she's feeling and i was very selfish.I mean what if her mum dies,heart transplant is very risky,extremely risky.My white t shirt was now wet with her tears and it now had black spots of her mascara and some lipstick but i didn't care.15minutes passed with her crying till she calmed down.

I broke the hug then looked at her .

me:"You can go home for the whole week.As for your mum,once she's out of danger ,they'll move her to my hospital"

she hugged me tight.She broke the hug when it became awkward for both of us

liv:"Ummm..Umm sorry"

I took out a gold card.

me:"buy your mum something"

olivia:"thank you but i can't accept this."

me:"please"

Olivia:"No thank....."

i interrupted her

me:" i insist"

olivia:" i hear you but..."

i interrupted her again

me:"You are my wife.I have all the rights"

she rolled her eyes.

me:"don't roll your eyes at me."

She sighed

Olivia:"on that note let's sign the contract"

i took the paper on the table and gave her a pen.

Without even reading ,she signed

Me:"you first read the contract"

liv:"what difference does it make.even if i read , i can't change anything"

i looked at her red puffy eyes.

Liv:"I'll leave."

With that she left.......................
