“These are nervous hallucinations,” said Amma, having listened to her husband's story. “You worry too much for our boy!”
“But for God’s sake, my trombone no longer plays! And what's more, that wineskin demanded a rainbow, as if we sell natural phenomena in our shop!”
“A rainbow?” the woman, who had overheard the gossip in the kitchen, was alarmed. “What rainbow?”
“Well, there is the only rainbow in existence, my love. The one in the sky!”
The door opened slowly, and Septima entered the kitchen in a dress with a one-legged flamingo she embroidered herself.
“And I know what rainbow you’re talking about,” she also stood on one leg.
“Eavesdropping is bad, dear,” Grakh turned to her.
