The sun is setting, spreading gold onto the walls of the room. I stand up the stool by my desk and walk to the window, looking out at the grounds below. I see them outside, enjoying a game of catch, my husband watching over attentively. They are so young, so full of life. The clock strikes six, signalling the need to dress for dinner. I choose the green velvet gown; the weight of it makes me feel strong and the movement it has as I walk ripples with femininity.
