I went to follow, but saw from the corner of my eye that Tash’s glitter was off center. That wouldn’t do. When the catapult sprang, it would be thrown askew and possibly miss the charger. Still funny, perhaps, but not part of Bruni’s perfect idea, and not like the normally fastidious Tash. I signaled to Bruni to go ahead. She did, looking back at me with a raised eyebrow. I understood the look: Don’t screw this up. Don’t screw this up.To my credit, I didn’t. It was an easy enough task, just nudging the tightly balled bundle back into place without setting off the catapult. Satisfied with my handiwork, I went to leave the tent before I was stopped by voices outside. I held my breath, fearing discovery. How early did the chargers begin their inspections?
