The Truth To Be Spilled

The silence of the halls might chill any one’s spirit; the darkness had completely engulfed the reflecting light beams from the nearest posts. But since no light can be ever extinguished, they had become the oasis for any wandering traveler in those lonely halls.

The door of a chamber screeched and a head popped out, swinging the neck side to side in a manner to secure the perimeter. The halls were so dark that the body became non – existent with the exposure to the black mass. Some thuds followed to the very end of the corridor and stopped. There was firm knocking on the metal door in the last cabin. A few seconds later the knocking grew intense and continuous. The door moved backwards and the dim light fell on the brilliant green eyes. The light was too dim yet strong enough to let him recognize the soul who was knocking at their doors when everyone was deep into their dreams.

‘Wake him up... I mean Alfred’

         ‘Why are you here...Right now...what’s the deal’   ‘I’ll explain everything, just get him up already.’

Whispers filled their room like the way Milo’s favorite cologne would do. ‘Hey Alf... Alf ...pal...we got to go wake up man.’ Milo jerked the torso of Alfred’s back vigorously.’

‘Err...huh… wait... what...why’, Alfred moaned still drooping in his dreams. ‘No time to answer, we got business to handle mate’, Milo breathed heavily as he turned the lights on. Alfred, still on his bed, smudging his eyes and constantly bleeping the eyelids to get the perfect visual of who was standing at the doors. ‘Urge... s**t’, screamed Alfred. ‘Keep it low Alfred, wanna ruin everybody’s dream’. Toni hit her lowest vocals. Things just got un-comfortable for Alfred following his encounter with a girl and his shirt less body. He might not have strict abs, but does have a buffed up body. No wonder, the kid's got quite a few badges in his honor at the Amateur MMA tournaments. Toni felt the atmosphere being uncomfortable for the boys, so he turned her head and slipped it back into the darkness of the halls. The team was nearly ready, when Milo hit the question. ‘And where are we supposed to go’. ‘To the Shelf House’... a sarcastic silence followed. ‘Uh huh...if this has escaped your mind then I must take the opportunity to put it back into your mind that the SHELF HOUSE is not the ideal place a responsible dweller like me would tread in.... and in the middle of the night. The sarcasm in Milo’s voice hit Toni, at once. ‘First of all, we are not going to enter the shelf house like we are invitees.... we are going to peep from the air vents up above’, Toni declared. ‘Well if you are not willing to participate, as I see you are quite certain about your responsibilities... I would glad to go myself.’

‘We would definitely go, you haven’t got to worry about that Toni’.... ‘Isn’t it MILO’, Alfred screeched between their soon to be heated conservation.

‘Yoho.... whatever’, Milo imitated.

The three left the room silently, pushed the door as it molded affixed into the frame. Toni led the way and the two followed like disciples. The only way to the shelf room was to go straight from Alfred and Milo’s cabins and then turn on the second left. But since they weren’t going to approach directly rather hover from the ac vents originating from the wire station they took the first left. The corridor went straight to the wire station. ‘Hey I would like to know as to what we will be listening from the ac vents.’ Alfred calmly hissed into Toni’s ear. ‘Oh .... My.... Days, you didn’t had a clue on what we are going to do from the top of the ac vent’, Toni screamed. ‘You never told us did ya...?’ Milo clarified his friend’s obligation. ‘Listen closely the top members of the LANCE are going to have a conference where they might hit on the rumors and if they do we will be there to figure out if it’s true or not.’ Toni answered the confused looks of the two. ‘What if they don’t’..... ‘Hey answer…me what if they don’t.’Milo uttered in frustration as he tried to cope up with their pace.
