I was grateful when my dear opponent didn’t show up for the signing of the treaty. He would really have spoiled the entire mood of the day. Besides, this had nothing to do with him. It was a treaty between me and his king. When I enquired why he wasn’t there … I wasn’t surprised to find out he had been kicked out of the pack and the couple of members that left here with him had joined the king’s pack. He told me that they felt awful about what happened and he suspected that they were probably too ashamed to ask to come back. It was refreshing to talk openly with the king, although I could feel that he was still keeping something back.
