The Luna's Rebirth

Chapter 5

Axel POV

All through the council meeting, my mind was preoccupied with the actions of Elena. She has proven, once again, that she was going to be a problem in my marriage with Jasmine. I knew I needed to find a way out before I left her destroy what is left of the bond between Jasmine and myself.

After the meeting, I decided to go and have a word with Jasmine. It was strange that she had grown on me. I could not stop going close to her. She was like a magnet, and I am always attracted.

"Where is the Luna?" I asked the maid by the door, by the time I arrived in the room.

"She had gone with Sir. Dorian to the gym. She says she wants to train herself."

Train herself? I had never heard of where a Luna wants to be physically built. Her commitment excites me and I loved every bit of it.

I took a turn down the left side of the hallway, which is the direction to the gym. I bumped into the pack doctor, who appeared to have just finished attending to one of the councilmen.

"Good day Alpha, I trust you are doing well," He asked with a lowered gaze.

"I am doing perfectly fine, move out of my way. "I want to go and see my mate." I shoved him away and tried to walk further, but he called me back.

"We haven't talked about the rites that need to be performed at the coronation. Like the right to access her womb and see her fertility rate and know if she can give birth."

"My mate is not infertile, and I want you to understand that," I said with a growl.

I found it insulting that they needed to carry out such a ridiculous test at hand.

I was well aware of the rites, but I was almost tempted to abolish them.

"We will give the Luna some bodily building drugs. "I believe this medication will start after the coronation and afterwards another one week would be made available to access her abilities to uhm.." He paused, seeing how angry I have gotten.

"Your work here as a pack doctor is to make sure that my wife gives birth to my heir. Stick to that and leave the whole accessing process. If I find any mishaps during the pregnancy period, I would have you killed." I warned, as he got striken with fear afterwards.

I walked away from him and at the last turn before the gym, I bumped into Dorian.

"Your highness, i was just thinking of coming to meet you." He informed me while his head was down.

"Why?"

"I have a serious topic to discuss with you, and it is about Elena." He said in a low tone

"As you can see, I am on my way to the gym to have a good time with my mate. I don't want to be burdened by some of Elena's madness."

In all honesty, I was not bothered about Elena. She would not dare tell anyone about our actions and they would believe her.

"But Alpha, you may really want to listen to this one." I looked at Dorian's face and noticed he was really disturbed by the news.

"Walk with me then." I said and begin taking steps forward to the gym, while Dorian was behind me.

"Alpha, as your Beta, I have served you since when you were young and I must admit that you really have a problem in your hands, in the form of Elena."

I paused and turned to look at him. "An Elena problem? That is ridiculous."

"Her father was from the seas your highness, I heard the gossips that she may have alliance with rogues."

I sighed and placed my hands on Dorian's shoulders.

"There is nothing to be worried about Dorian. If she tries anything stupid, I am sure she will always end up like her father." I assured him, as we finally made it to the gym room.

My nose picked up the smell of flames and I rushed inside to see everywhere was in flames. From the side were soldiers on the ground.

"The guards appeared to have been sedated." Dorian informed, as my eyes stare at the flames.

"What about my mate Dorian!" I asked, thinking of the worse in my head.

"Alpha, I left her with them." He said, as the fire proceed further, Dorian stood in my way trying to protect me from it.

"Get yourself inside that flame and bring my mate for me alive or I will slit your throat."

Dorian hesitate, but rushed into the fire. I was anxious hoping that she was still alive and kicking. Dorian stepped of the flames with her body and I rushed over to him grabbing Jasmine body away from his hands.

Her skin were already bruised with the flames of the fire.

"Get me the doctor!" I ordered and Dorian left the room. I hoisted her up in my arms and stepped out of room.

Who would have done this to my mate? I tried moving her hair away from her face, which was completely bruised.

The doctor arrived, alongside several pack soldiers. He dropped his equipment and begins to observe the lifeless body, while I watch nervously.

"She is still breathing your highness, we will have to place her under rest for some weeks." I nodded and the doctor ordered his nurses to help carry my mate's body to the pack hospital.

"Alpha I am sorry, I did not know this was going to happen."

"Find me the one responsible for this and bring their head to me!" I ordered and the soldiers all left the room, save for the exception of the captain.

"Perhaps the Beta will know more about the situation of the room because he was the last one here."

"Are you accusing me of killing the future Luna?" Dorian was ready to fight, but I stepped in their midst.

"Everyone better hope my mate gets better. If she doesn't, I will make sure none of you is alive."
