Chapter Seven: Baekhyun

1135 Words
After Inell left, dinner continued on as usual. I let her sleep on the couch that night. In the morning I woke her up. "Inell," I said demandingly. She woke up immediately and I had her attention. "Your list of chores is on the table like usual. Tonight I'll be coming home late, but don't even think about slacking off. Understood?" "Yes, Master," she replied. With that, I left for work. The workday was nothing special. No shockingly gruesome deaths, just the usual things humans die of. Luckily, I had no need to drink the blood of dead men this time around. After I got off work was what I was looking forward to. It was the monthly auction. Somehow, I had actually been talked into getting another slave. I suppose the idea of being able to beat a slave senseless and still having one around to feed off of appealed to me. I went to the Western Auction House. This one was different from the one I got Inell from, which was the Southern Auction House. At the auction house I got Inell from, the girls were hardly fed anything and dressed modestly, which I preferred. At the Western Auction House, girls were treated well for the most part, but they were dressed like whores. I went there this time because I wanted a healthy slave instead of an emaciated one. When I arrived there, I signed in and took a seat in the crowd. The area where people sat was dimly lit, but the stage was brightly illuminated. The first girl they brought out looked kind of like Inell, but she had fair skin. Inell's skin was an olive color. I lost interest in the girl as soon as they announced that her blood type was AB positive. Most vampires go crazy for AB since it's so rare, but I can't stand the taste of positive blood no matter the type. Towards the end of the auction, I was beginning to believe that I was going to go home empty handed. None of the girls really caught my attention, until I saw her. She was wearing a gray crop top that barely covered anything and short-shorts just like the rest of the slaves. She had a nice body, being more voluptuous than most slaves. Her straight honey blond hair was a drastic contrast from Inell's curly chestnut hair. "Here we have nineteen-year-old Sage," the emcee announced. "She's blood type O negative, has had nine masters in the past two years, and is a non-virgin." "Shocker," the guy beside me, who I immediately recognized as my old friend Suho, sarcastically commented. I debated on whether or not to place a bid. Virginity was worth fifteen thousand by itself, which is why Inell was so expensive, so this girl wouldn't have that fee, but she was healthy and pleasing to the eye, not to mention that she didn't have any visible scars. "Let's begin the bidding at twenty-five thousand." "Twenty-five thousand!" someone called out. "Forty-thousand," Suho bid. I took a deep breath. "Forty-five thousand." Suho glanced at me with a smirk on his face. It was game on. "Sixty-thousand," he called out. I bid again. "Seventy-five thousand!" "Ninety thousand!" "One-hundred thousand!" That was my final bid. I had never paid over seventy thousand for a slave, so this girl better be good. "One-hundred thousand going once... going twice... Sold!" the emcee announced. "To Sir Baekhyun. And that wraps up this month's auction. Owners, you may pick up your slaves backstage." I went backstage to where all the slaves were. Sage stuck out with her blond hair amongst the many brunettes. "Sir," a woman said as she approached me. "Are you here to claim a slave?" Why else would I be here? "Yes." "What's your name?" "Sir Baekhyun." "Can I see some ID?" I huffed as I reached into my pocket. The Western Auction House was extremely strict when it came to the process of claiming slaves, so it was a tedious task to claim them. I held out my ID for the woman to see. "Okay," she said as she jotted something down on a clipboard. "Do you remember your slave's name?" "Sage," I answered. "And how much did you pay for her?" "Hundred thousand." "Wow," she said with an annoying smile on her face. "That's more than most slaves go for. In fact, I think-" "Listen here," I interrupted, annoyed with this woman's blabbering. "I have another slave at home that I need to attend to, so if you could shut your trap and get me out of here as fast as possible, that would be just great." She clenched her jaw, clearly mad at me. "You may collect your slave now, Sir," she said in a passive aggressive tone. I walked over to Sage, not bothering to say a word to her before I grabbed her wrist and walked her out of the building and to my car. "Let's get one thing straight," I said after awhile driving home. "If you dress like that in my house, I will beat you to a bloody pulp." She seemed confused by my statement. "Dress like what?" she asked. "Like a w***e," I said bluntly. "Last girl I let dress however she wanted ended up getting pregnant by one of my friends," I told her as I thought about that little slut. "Long story short, I ripped her head off when I found out, but if that were to ever happen again," I gripped the steering wheel tighter. "I wouldn't be so merciful with their death." Sage looked at me wide-eyed. I could tell that she was shocked by my threatened brutality. I expected her to be used to things like that since she'd been through nine masters, but clearly I was wrong. "The people at the auction house dressed me like this," she told me. "I didn't want to. They made me." "I know," I replied. "But if I ever catch you in those clothes again, especially if we have guests over, let's just say your scarless skin won't be so perfect when I'm done with you." Neither of us said anything the rest of the way home, but I noticed that Sage seemed timid for a girl who had had nine masters. Usually, girls like that were either stand off-ish or so completely broken that they obeyed your every word, but Sage acted like a girl who had just entered the program. When we arrived at the house, I got out of the car and grabbed Sage's arm, pulling her towards the front door. I barged in and was met with the sight of Inell. She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw who I had with me. "Inell," I said. "Meet Sage."
