Misunderstanding

Alexander POV Alexander got around to the staircase before he stopped walking and had to get his breathing under control. It was her. He had not seen her for 3 years and had looked everywhere for her. Her family had disappeared, they disappeared because she did not want to be with me, according to my mother. She is here to give her blessing, which means she is aware he is getting married. For some reason, which upset him. He did not want her to know he was supposed to get married, and he did not know why. She was the one that left him, he should not be feeling this way. Alexander sped his pace up as he was already heading to his parents. He sat on a chair that was sitting just off to the side of where his parents sat on a soft and very plush love seat. “I do not know why you hired her, but I want another witch. Get rid of her.” His mother sipped her tea as she watched him. She normally does this to calm her nerves when she is upset. He was never sure why his parents hated witches so much. He was fairly sure his father just went with whatever his mother wanted; it normally made life a lot easier. “I did not realize it was her I hired until I was her at the gate. Just try to be nice until she leaves. You are not to be alone with her at all.” “Is it because we were lovers or is it because I tried to marry her when you tried to marry me to Asha at first. I fell in love with someone else, someone you hate. She is back and I want to know why she left.” His mother sat her cup down. “You really think she will tell you the truth on why she left the crown Prince, she left you after you wanted to marry her. You asked her, she said yes and then left you afterwards, probably to sell the ring worth so much.” She was calm but you could tell the thought of him getting close to the witch upset her. *** Corrie POV Knocking on the door thumped throughout the room. I had been sitting on the bed just thinking after I passed him in the hallway, it had been a while since I passed him. I do not even know why passing him in the hallway had messed me up so badly. I knew I would run into him, and I had thought I was prepared for it. This is stupid, being here changes nothing at all, I am nothing to him. He let his family run us off. He is my first love, my only love, and Quinns father my inner voice reminded me. The person knocking did not go away while I was in my thoughts, which is just annoying. I got up and pulled the door open to reveal Alexander. I gently bowed to him when I realized it was him. "Your Majesty, can I help you?" I stared at him holding all my power in my emerald eyes. His eyes glared at me like he could see right through me. “Yes, you can, what in the hell are you doing here?” “I was requested here by your mother. It seems you are getting married, and I have to bless it as a way to hope you will be on your best behavior, oh then there’s the dangerous “thing” taking people I must find and do something with. It is probably something your mother has pissed off.” Alexander looked annoyed. “Can you not send someone else in your place?” “Alexander, I do not have anyone else to send, trust me I did not want to come back here anymore than you all want me here. It is just me, my mother, an. . .” I about mentioned Quinn, glad I caught myself. “Where is your father at?” I looked at him in shock then realized he generally did not know. I walked to sit on my bed and looked at the floor. “He died during an attack on us. Angry mobs do not come up to use to be kind.” “I am sorry that happened and I know it does not matter now, but I feel like I deserve to know why, did you leave?” His face got serious and that was the only reason I knew he was not joking. I laughed even though he was completely serious. “Please tell me you are not serious, I mean the look on your face says you are, but you can not be that closed out that you were not aware of what your mother did to us?” His look turned into confusion, and I could not hold it all back. “I was chased away, we were chased out of here, out of the village by angry people. They killed him and did not care.” I could feel myself starting to cry as I remembered everything. He died for us. Quinn included but I would never tell him that. He will never know about her if I could help it. He backed up not sure what to do, he had never been good with emotions. How I wish he could have learned that with Quinn, but it would be impossible. The royal family and their people would never accept her, and I am proof of that. You can tell he was lost for words as he tried to figure out what to say. “I- I would have known if you had been run off, someone would have talked about it.” He did not believe me and that was fine. I did not think he would actually believe me. “I am not asking you to believe me I am just telling you what happened. It is up to you if you believe me.” I wiped my tears knowing keeping Quinn away was the right thing. “The door is just behind you, if you would leave, I would appreciate it.” He huffed up at being dismissed. “Fine, if you do not wish to tell me why you really left, I have no choice but to assume it was to just steal from me!” He stormed out, his boots sounded rough on the hard wood flooring as he walked out and slammed the door. This was what was best, and I know it but that did not stop it from killing me inside.
