The Search.

Lucas's point of view I drummed my fingers against the polished surface of my massive oak desk impatient with my eyes on the man before me, my private investigator. He stood in front of me looking more nervous than before. I couldn't believe I paid this man a huge fortune to find me one woman, just one woman. A woman who had vanished five years ago and had remained so despite searching all over the country. We were still with nothing. The same news over and over again. “Hector, five years, five f*****g years," I repeated in a dangerously low voice. “A while five freaking years and still nothing? Aren't you already losing your touch?" I asked in frustration. He was a middle aged man with some gray hair here and there in an ill fitting suit, he looked downcast as he swallowed hard. "I am sorry sir, I know this isn't the news you were eager to hear but my team and I have searched every record in this country, every database but yet there is no trace of this woman. Not even any financial activity, I couldn't find anything under her real name, no official documents under that name or credit cards. She is literally a ghost, sir, a ghost!” He explained sheepishly. “A ghost? A ghost!" I clenched my jaw as I let out a small dry chuckle. “You have got to be kidding me, I know she is out there somewhere so find her! I don't care if you need more resources or if what it takes, just find her. I will be giving you the next two days to find her or else…” I uttered with a tone that left no room for any argument. "You don't want to know what I have planned so check every flight record, every hospital registry and even lease agreement, do I have to always teach you your damned job? Just find her!” I ordered in a hostile manner. He nodded quickly as he turned and left me in my frustration, he was probably relieved that he had escaped my wrath… yet. He just had two days to right his wrong before I decided on what to do to him.
