Rey's Heart

CHAPTER 6

But then she felt it again, the dark energy from inside, the same one she had felt for the fourth time that second. She could feel it right inside her body as it penetrated her outer body, it was like a heat wave or an extremely wild fire and it was very uncomfortable.

"Princess, you have to concentrate."

With that she forcefully opened her eyes to Vee's statement which came from the bluetooth device she had on her ear.

"I am concentrating, but I can feel it again Vee." She replied quietly as she scanned the crowd all around her, there were a lot of people all with different skin tones maybe that was how the human world was because she had gotten used to only one race, the Octus Nova one, at the far end she saw her Halsey all clothed up in her combat attire smiling at everyone who was chanting her name in high tones.

"She is really loved."

"I can tell." Rey whispered scanning for two more people who had led her to the stadium like place, they were bright after all that's what she had thought, Ellen and Haley who was now better who wore worried faces were what made them easy to spot, they both sat at the second row on her left side right across two people she could almost guess who they were, a bald not so huge man who was almost a complete replica of Halsey in a white shirt and a black jacket and the brown woman who sat beside him was in a black dress, short black hair and had her eyes on Halsey.

"I think she is ready." Vee said and Rey in the most calm way she could think of shot her eyes at her, Halsey who was being handed a brownish long sword by none other than Eli.

"You can do this." Vee tried to cheer her up.

"I am not worried about the fight but what's going on inside me, I can feel it so bad Vee and it's worse than the way it was a month ago. I am afraid of what might happen if I don't manage to control myself." She admitted and she could tell Vee was nervous too so whatever was going on was not in her best interest.

"Let's fight one battle at a time, remember you don't have to prove yourself to anyone most importantly none of the human people." When you rely on anyone to give you some advice and they do not give what your ears want to hear, you feel like crushing them, that's how Rey always felt when she was with Vee, forever with her and still she was always the same old Vee overtime and Rey tried not to mind that except she did mind.

"May both the opponents step forward." A loud speaker which she couldn't tell where it was situated from announced and the crowd went all silent at once.

"Now walk towards each other and face your opponent's face." They both did.

"Rules, rules, rules." Rey mumbled holding her sword rather tightly.

"So you ready to go back home?" Halsey asked in low tones once they were just a couple of steps apart.

"I would if I had a way to go." Rey replied, she knew Halsey was just taunting her but she just couldn't let her have the last laugh.

"Afraid that I will tear you to pieces, is that why you have on body armour?" So she asked and even before they were ordered to start Halsey plunged her sword at Rey but Rey was able to shield herself but stopping her with her own sword.

"Oh me make someone mad." She whispered knowing that Halsey could hear.

Want some action, thats what I am going to give you and the last you will hear will be my name.

Halsey once more tried again moving towards Rey in full force but Rey stepped aside avoiding her which was totally unwelcoming for Halsey but Rey knew what she was doing, she watched once more run straight at her, try to fight her, get a hold of her but Rey still blocked her then she saw the exact change she wanted, Halsey was getting angry.

"That was you plan all along, it was not to fight her, but for them to see that she was working for it." Vee said and Rey just smiled, stared at her sword rubbed her name with her thumb and then she twisted it swiftly turned around then she walked to her, pretended to fight at the same time blocking her every thrust against her and she knew all eyes were on the one they were still chanting for, she made herself slip just in time for Halsey to come thrusting the same sword right above her neck then she heard it, the excitement that she had been defeated and Halsey had won and a minute later Halsey stretched out her hand and helped her stand still.

The both women locked eyes for a minute or so and then she felt it again not in her entire body but somewhere else, she could feel like someone had poured acid in her eyes, like they weren't even hers and imediately she felt the overly tight grasp she had on Halsey who also noticed and before Halsey could utter a word Rey forced herself to let go and just like that it was gone.

"It's suprising that she let you stay even after she won." Ellen pointed out to Rey, they walking home that evening after the fight had happened and Halsey in the most weird way had announced that even though she had won, Rey could could still stay at Ellen's house but under her watch which was not something either of them were expecting.

"I cannot believe it either." Haley added.

"I guess we are all surprised." Rey finally spoke.

"You blocked her during the fight her sword didn't even touch you, how did you do that?" Ellen asked her.

"It's tactic, you learn how to block so that you cannot hurt your opponent, it was the only one I could think of using with her." Rey explained.

"You haven't seen what she can do when she is in an actual fight." Vee who was not back to the watch said and as she watched the two bestfriends stop, maybe for an explanation but that wasn't it, on her right hand she had caught it, a very sharp sword and when she turned, Ellen with Eli obviously.

"Told you she would catch it." Eli laughed.

"What's going on?" Ellen asked walking towards them.

"We were debating whether or not its true she is an alien and so we followed you." Eli said to his sister.

"I know you let me win on purpose, you were not trying at all." Halsey said to Rey who now had her eyes at her.

"I don't know what your problem with me is but yes I let you win because I know how it feels to have people look upto you, have their respect and I didn't want to take that away from you." Rey said coldy, each of them still held the sword at one ends, except Rey had it on the edge.

"I don't want any trouble, but you are really pushing me, you are testing my patient so bad," She added.

"And trust me when I say this there is only so much I can take." She said once more and she tried to control it as it much as she could, the sudden urge to just hurt her, hurt her so bad that she would never forget but then she heard her.

"Rey, stop you are bleeding already, just stop!" Ellen who was now by her side ultimately brought her back to her senses, she'd let go of the sword and stare at the palm of her hand which was bleeding profusely and then in that last minute before they arrived to the house, she had watched them panic as they stared at her, at Vee, at the people who were heading back home and then in all that confusion, she understood something, she couldn't feel it, she hadn't felt it not even once, the pain that the cut would have caused.

"What do you think is the problem?" That was a question from Eli who stood between his sister and Halsey all eyes on Rey.

"She can't feel pain." Possibly that was from either Haley or her sister.

"Maybe Vee can help." And that was Ellen.

"It's happening." That was from Vee, and they all turned their attention to her, Rey who still had her eyes on her hand, like it should have it had stopped bleeding but the 'it's happening' from Vee was what they were all waiting to see.

"She is healing." Haley exclaimed.

"Or not." Eli said but a second later all they could see was a c***k happening and a rupture like thing all over at the place she had been cut and as it erupted violently all they could picture out was if not magma, a fire like thing as it penetrated the inside straight area she had been cut and she still didn't feel it even though it looked like it hurt badly.

"Someone care to fill me in on what's happening?" Halsey asked as panic rose from all of them, well except Rey.

"Does it hurt?" Ellen asked her.

"No," Rey shook her head trying to comprehend everything that was happening.

"Vee." She turned to the only one who could give some insights.

"If it doesn't hurt that means you cannot feel any pain, that might explain why you couldn't when the cut happening." Haley pointed out.

"I get it now, something has been a miss in me since Ellen and you found me, I lost my sense of feeling pain." Rey said it was evident in her face that she was truly bothered by her own revelation.

"And I am meant to get it back in the worst way possible." She added, she didn't need an AI or someone who could see the future to tell her that was true, she just choose to trust her own heart, her guide.

"You own gifts, after all this years, they are manifesting themselves in you right now, that's why you have been experiencing the darkness inside yourself." Vee finally found her voice and Rey shook her head repeteadly trying to not only grasp Vee's statement but also what it meant.

"The prophecy its all true." Vee exclaimed.

"It has been true all this time." She added.

"What prophecy?" Ellen asked the daring question in everyones mind.

"About the crown princess." Vee answered.

"I am not the crown princess." Rey shouted.

"But I thought you are next in line to be queen?" Haley asked her.

"She is a princess?A queen in waiting?" Halsey asked and her sister just nodded.

"I know okay, but I cannot be a crown princess, I cannot be the crown princess, the prophesy is not true it never was it hasn't been for a hundred years since she died." Rey snapped, she knew what her statement meant as she watched them take their respective sits while she slowly closed the palm of her hand, she could feel the energy flowing all over it and she wished that wasn't so, that atleast it should have been another one, another gift, one a Vasten could handle, a gift that would not be the end of her and the only reassurance that she would need from the only person who could help her at least master what her body was producing had not believed that she was still alive much less in the human world and that only added to the anger she felt from within.
