Chapter 10 Nick’s gaze slid to the side, watching Todd. They’d gone from the chancellor’s office to check the prison and formulate a plan to get inside. Without looking away from the prison, Todd said, “Chancellor Clarke was lying.” They were crouched in an alley across the street from the prison. “Not about everything,” Nick said. Todd turned his head far enough to glance at Nick for a few seconds. “About the important part.” He nodded at the prison. “How did you get in there?” Nick tapped Todd’s shoulder, waggled a couple of fingers at him, and slipped out of the alley and along the buildings a few more yards. “See there, the far end where those breezeways are between the sections?” “Yeah.” “It’s hard to see from here, but there are basements.
