Chapter 7 Todd yawned and pried his eyes open in time to see the room brighten slightly. A strong breeze blew the curtains inward and the atmosphere tingled with low, barely audible rumbling. Had he not already been more awake than asleep, he probably would have never noticed the storm. It was close enough they were getting some wind and rain, but far enough away Eldrid was on the edge of its path. Nick shimmied closer, moving so his head was planted firmly over Todd’s solar plexus and his hair fanned out, tickling Todd’s chin. He muttered something against Todd’s skin, wound his arms around Todd’s chest and squirmed his legs between Todd’s before sighing.
