“Wait,” Cassie said, helping Lucas stand.
“How about the other Lucas?” Lark questioned.

Cassie was surprised. She badly wanted to ask how he knew, but she held back.
“He’s not your blood, Mom. But he loves you. You love him. Family isn’t just blood.”
