A beautiful hum filled the entirety of the theatre of Pompey after the emperor and empress were gone, the sound of people raving about the performance, the individual players, and the great success of the production as a whole. They talked in their seats, in the orchestra, and filled the gardens of the quadriporticus beyond where tables of wine and food had been set out. This was a surprise addition, courtesy of the aedile who had had a small army of servants waiting with wagons under guard in the street outside until the end of the play.
A crowd of admirers had gathered in the orchestra in order to meet the members of The Etrurian Players, including Clara and Rufio who were a little overwhelmed by the attention, unused as they were to such glories.
