“Your sister?”
“She’s around here somewhere. I guess she came to check on me again.”
He sounded sad.
“She must care for you a lot.”
“Yeah. We were always close.”
Elizabeth didn’t know what to say. All she could do was hug him and hope that offered some small comfort.
“Let’s go find out where those people were born.”
“You’re almost as into this as I am.”
“It’s good to feel like I may be able to help people.”
They found it difficult to determine where all the missing people were born. It took three hours to confirm that two of them were born and raised locally. It was difficult work, but they were both inspired by the thought that they may make a real difference.
Sawyer remained distracted, and although he did try to hide it Elizabeth knew he was upset.
