His hand felt heavy on her leg. She was acutely aware of it and still felt a twinge of upset about the argument they had. She had never expected to be rejected by him, and she was worried that he may have changed his mind because of his trouble saying no to her and not because he really agreed with her. “I know what you’re thinking, Elizabeth.
