Elizabeth remembered what Sawyer had told her after they had argued earlier when he sat down on the floor opposite her. He didn’t want to look down at her while they spoke candidly, as it made him feel like she was his subordinate. She knelt on the floor so that she was at eyelevel with him. She didn’t move any closer to him, but he moved tentatively towards her. He rested his head on her shoulder and she wrapped her arms around him.
