Chapter eight

259 Words
Not once in Argonne's life was he told to go to bed. He'd always been strong, resilient. Guess as an assassin, he'd didn't always have time for sleep. When he did have time for a little sleep, he'd lay next to Seonnyre, wide awake. He hoped his restless nights didn't wake her up. And yet, here he was, being told by a grenaryiane to go to bed. "Um, where?" Archer and Tirsynthe shared the bed, Caverne slept on a blanket in the corner. He had given her a pillow soon after she'd falling into a deep slumber. Archer did. She didn't want Argonne any where near her. There was a bit of friction between him and Caverne, which he didn't understand. It's not like I'm the one that banged her into a bleeding, broken mess. But another darkdweller did, and it scarred her. She was fine with Seonnyre, but it was a male that hurt her. Argonne wish he could help her at least feel somewhat safe around him. Not like she'd ever feel safe around me. "Well, you could sleep like Caverne, if you wanted, or, I don't know, next to Seonnyre in the hammock." "I like that idea." Argonne crawled cautious not to shake the hammock too much. At least Seonnyre was sound asleep. He had to be extra careful. She was still hurt, and he didn't want to make her hurt anymore than she already did. No tossing and turning. He scolded himself. He rested his head on her shoulder. Should be a peaceful night's sleep.
