Akira's POV
The chauffeur was ready as always, he watched us intensely as we walked to him, his eyes dropped at our intertwined hands. It's weird that Kael is holding my hand and it's making me feel uneasy in a certain kind of way.
He held me till we got into the car. “You look beautiful Miss,” the man complimented and I gave a soft smile.
“We aren't paying you to do that Gerald,” Kael said.
He is being mean, it was just a harmless compliment.
“Sorry sir,” he apologized as he stepped on the gas pedal.
I looked outside the window, but I couldn't see clearly; everything was kind of blurry, I had no choice, Kael seized my glasses.
In a few minutes, we got to a beautiful house, a lot more beautiful than mine, but not as beautiful as Kael's.
As we got down from the car, Kael held me again, why is he even doing this again?
People around our age stood at the front of the door, smiling and chatting, looking like they were having the best time of their lives.
While others stood by the pool, some were in the pool, swimming and playing with the water. I looked around in awe. Is this how highschool parties work? All the rich kids were at the party, they were dressed beautifully and I felt like I didn't belong here.
I would rather spend my weekend drowning into books, textbooks or romance novels. As we walked slowly, the eyes of the girls at the party landed on us, they watched me carefully and surprisingly.
Yeah… Even I would never expect Kael Blackwood to bring a girl like me to a party. And he was holding my hands like we have been friends for a while.
The boys' eyes also scanned through me, they were also stunned.
Kael didn't even budge, he pushed open the door and he led me in.
A guy who I recognize to be Kael's friend was wearing a silly birthday hat and he had a ‘birthday boy’ robe labeled to him. It's his birthday.
Kael sighted him almost immediately and we walked over to him.
“Happy Birthday Buddy,” Kael greeted.
The guy looked at me closely, he saw that Kael was holding my hand, he almost choked on his drink as his eyes widened.
“Thanks,” he muttered, staring at me weirdly.
Why did Kael even bring me here? Kael pinched my hand a little making me speak.
“Happy Birthday,” I muttered softly.
“Thanks beautiful,” he responded, but Kael shot him a deadly glare.
I don't understand Kael, he was the one who dressed me up, isn't he supposed to be happy that I am getting compliments.
“Let's have a seat,” Kael walked me to a seat away from the crowd. My mind was finally at rest. I hated the stares so much.
“What would you like to have?” He asked me.
Is he supposed to be ordering me around, why is he asking me that?
“Nothing.”
“Do you want me to force you?”
“No… I am sorry, I would have anything.”
“Good, I'd be back shortly. Don't talk to anyone while I'm gone,” he laid emphasis on the word ‘anyone’.
At least I was relieved that he is still being mean to me, his caring acts earlier made me feel choked.
I felt a deep gaze on me- like someone was watching me closely, but I didn't see anyone around. Maybe it's just a common stare?
I looked around the place randomly, I spotted a couple kissing, not just a kiss, a very heated kiss, they were making out publicly, blinded with lust for one another.
A part of me cringed, will a guy ever want to kiss me that way? Would I ever want to be kissed like that?
“Hey,” a voice brought me back to my senses.
“Hi Camila,” I smiled at her.
“You are here alone?” she asked.
Oh… damn it, Kael said I shouldn't talk to anyone.
“Hmm,” I hummed.
“Alright, I am at the photo booth if you need me,” she said, walking away slowly.
Photo booth? There is a photo booth. I would like to try it out, but I can't. I came here with Kael. I have to play by his rules. Being the mean jerk that he is, he would never let me do what I want.
I waved at her as she left. Kael came back, he held two glasses of juice in his hands. He brought me a drink! So he could do that? Wow!
“Why were you talking to that blonde girl?” he handed me the drink.
“Thanks. She is a friend,” I answered.
He settled beside me, sipping on his drink slowly. “You don't have friends Milky.”
“I do, we recently just became friends,” I argued.
“Alright.”
I sipped on the drink he got me. The other peers started a game of truth and dare. I watched curiously as the bottle spinned, I have never participated in such a game before.
The bottle spinned and spinned. Eventually, it stopped at a beautiful girl.
“Megan… Truth or Dare?” Linda said she was the host of the game.
“Dare,” Megan answered.
“I dare you to take 4 shots,” Linda placed a bottle of alcohol and a small glass cup before Megan.
Megan grinned a little before she took in a shot, then one more, then another, and the last one. I watched in horror. I would never participate in a game like this. Thank goodness Kael didn't make me do it.
Kael chuckled lightly as he studied my expressions.
“It isn't so hard you know,” he said to me.
“It is, her eyes are becoming red.”
“She is getting high.”
“The game is too harsh. What if she has low alcohol tolerance?”
“She shouldn't have participated then.”
Oh… that's true. No one was forced to join the game.
“Do you have a low alcohol tolerance Milky?” he suddenly asked.
“I don't know, I have never had alcohol,” I answered him.
He raised his eyebrows at me. “Not even once?”
I nodded negatively at him. He didn't say anything else.
The game went on and on, some were dared to give kisses, lap dances and other crazy stuff. While some were forced to say the truth, about their crush, their body count and the weirdest thing they ever did.
I enjoyed watching, but I was grateful I didn't take part in it. I was inexperienced in all the kinds of stuff they did.
I looked at Kael sitting beside me, then I looked at the floor. I didn't know what to say to him. I wanted to say something to him, but I didn't know how to put it in a sentence.
“Spill it Milky, I know you have something to say,” he said, staring at me, while I struggled to keep eye contact.
How did he know? Was it that obvious?
“Can… I… Would you let me… I want to take pictures,” I said, my voice barely audible.
“Pictures?”
