-Emery
That nagging feeling I felt earlier, sure was coming back to bite me. With each step to the Dean's office, my heart would pound hard in my chest. My legs were not cooperating the way I wanted them to as my whole body was practically begging me not to go. I pushed myself onward, despite not understanding why I felt like I just killed a person. I wasn't the type of girl to get in trouble but usually, I wouldn't feel so guilty when my punishment was for something unnecessary.
'Pull yourself together, Emery!' The Dean surely will understand, won't he? I became very stressed out for no apparent reason. I opened the door again and saw the same lady at the desk. Her eyes widened when I appeared scowling when making eye contact with the note in my hand. My teacher probably did such useless things all the time, causing the front desk lady to understand the situation instantly. She softly nodded and then pointed to the door in the very back. Giving her a small "thank-you," with a silent gulp, I dragged my feet towards his door as she instructed. The intense aura from the door, making me feel weary of what was to come my way.
I knocked and stood still; waiting for an answer. A small "come in" flowing through as I turned the knob with my very shaky hands. To my luck I was met with a familiar face. It just had to be the man who made my heart race just by staring him.
‘Oh for goodness sake, of course, he was the Dean’, I whispered out of dismay. The handsome man from before was sitting in his chair silently staring at his laptop. He looked up at me, and my breath hitched once again as his eyes grew dark and he gazed intensely. It was then that we had yet another awkward moment of staring. His eyes lingering for sometime before he tried to compose himself; while adjusting his tie.
"Ms. Malone, what can I do for you," he said in a calm voice with an attractive yet deep tone to it. “Oh, boy Emery you are in big trouble now”, I thought, and without a word, I handed him the note and then sat in one of the chairs. My hands played a small little tune on my trembling thighs. I kept fidgeting and trying to control my breathing as I waited for him to finish reading it with aggrieved anticipation.
"I see a disruption to the class," he said, his tone filled with concern. I closed my eyes tightly in frustration. Was he not going to understand this predicament? I decided to speak up to justify myself. I mean I, didn't exactly want to be of any disturbance. "I'-I'm sorry, Sir. I never meant to be a disruption to the class. I am a new student, and I simply was trying to attend the class but ended up late," I reply hopefully with enough sadness for him to consider taking it lighter on me. To no surprise, getting away would only be a naive thought.
"Although this is your first day, Ms. Malone, I have to inform you that we have no tolerance for people being late. You must deal with the consequences of your actions and learn from them as well". I nodded my head while internally crying inside. Mind you, I had a weak heart, and being a disappointment to anyone was considered a big load on my shoulders causing sleepless nights. I already was one of the biggest werewolf disappointments of all time, adding onto it stresses me more than I could handle.
"As for your punishment, you must come to my office every morning. It must be before the bell, and I'm giving you a card which has to be stamped by me". This will ensure that you do understand the importance of punctuality and responsibility. As this occurs for two weeks, you must know that if you miss a single stamp, a bigger punishment will be in the making."
Something about that particular statement caused me to shiver inside. Maybe it's the fact that I would be in more trouble than I was at that moment. To be completely honest, it wasn't too bad. Apart from having to see the leader of the school every morning, being on time from there on out was possible. I would not be late to another class again anyway it; wasn't part of the person I was at all.
So with a nod, I took the stamp card from him and stood up. "I'm truly sorry, Mr. uh-."
"Alpha Darius," he replied with full confidence. Wow, does that name fit him or what? Wait a minute, an Alpha!!?? Shoot man, I'm in the presence of my Alpha. Never had I seen him with my own eyes considering we lived in a big city. "huh," was my sad reply.
"Call me Alpha Darius; I know you are of my kind Ms. Malone. Your wolf is practically dripping its presence". Now that was a head-turner. How in the world could my wolf be tracked when it was not there at all? I guessed that it was because he was an alpha, so it’s to be; expected. "Okay, Alpha Darius, I can assure you this will never happen again," I tell him definitely, meaning it. With that, I made my exit and instantly dropped my composure. My goodness, that man was going to be the death of me.
I was on my way to my next class, but the encounter with the Alpha certainly hadn't left my mind. A troubling aura was starting to follow me around, and it was beginning to be noticeable. Please help me, Moon Goddess, I stared in space out of desperation.
I was startled by the first bell telling everyone it was time to go to their second block. On the bright side, I wouldn't be having to face detention. That would surely make my day way less enjoyable. I walked into the classroom like everyone else around me, but with my head hanging low. My self-confidence was a sad sight to see, but hey, there's nothing I could do about it. My guard was to stay up at all times, for you never knew what predator could be lurking the corners of my life.
‘Oh quit being dramatic’, I spoke to myself once again. Standing in front of the class, I released not a single breath. Not knowing my seating arrangement, was the cause for me waiting for the teacher to arrive who was of course running a little late. It was suffocating really as the class held their eyes on me. I began to question whether they’d seen a new student before? Then again, this was Art class we were talking bout. The room was screaming tranquility and a big warm welcome. The little candles surrounding the room and the paintings of nature; bringing quality of freedom out. If only that was what I had for the start of the day. It definitely was a great improvement from the class before. The room silent yet nerve-racking, that is until the door opened suddenly.
"Why hello, you must be Emery," a person kindly said behind me. "It's great to have you in my class, my names Ms. Holly," continued the beautiful young woman in a sundress. Her auburn hair laid gently on her shoulders, and her smile seemed to light up the room. Was this woman an angel? I could only seem to come up with that conclusion.
"Hello, yes, I'm Emery, and it's a pleasure to be here," I reply smoothly without a single c***k. Now she' was doing magic spells on me or something. "That's great, please take a seat right next to Kyle in the back with the black hat. We certainly can't wait to get to know you more this year, and what better way to express this than through a painting," she stated animatedly.
Following her instructions I made my way to the back. “Lovely; isn't she," questioned the boy who I then knew as Kyle. He looked very kind, allowing me to instantly relax. Well enough to give him a plausible answer. Yep, and this is most likely to be my favorite class."
"Amazing, and hopefully, we can be great partners or even better, Friends"! Kyle said while putting his hand out for a shake. I smiled at him, very happy to have met my potential new friend. So with that, I gave him a small chuckle and then replied, "I wouldn't mind that one bit. This day wouldn't be so bad, after all”, I thought alone to myself, painting a picture of my view of the world.
