William Hodge remained silent.
Frowning, he watched as more trees rose to their feet and moved towards the gully in the forest's glare. Instead of answering, he asked, " How's the investigation going?"
"Not much to report. According to jailers and guards who survived, a total of seven escaped. Interestingly, aside from Duke, the other six were not on record."
"Huh?" Hodge turned around. "No record at all?"
"Yes, neither prisoners, nor jailers or guards. They just kind of came out of nowhere, showed up in cell block one and broke out of prison with Duke. No one has seen them before, and our investigation has led to nothing!"
Hodge did not speak, but his fingers unconsciously twirled the strings of his huge bow.
"Even stranger," Jacques continued, "at least two of the six unrecorded
