Chapter 4

451 Words
Garrett's POV Sitting in my office, I stare at all the paperwork I need to get done, but my wolf Dominic won't settle enough for me to focus. "What's wrong with you, old man?"I'm not sure, Garrett. I'm restless, I feel like something is coming, but I don't know what." I look out my window at the pups playing in the grass and think about what Dom said. It has been pretty quite around here for a couple years now being the ruthless Alpha Garrett has its advantages like no one wanting to attack my pack but if Dom feels like something is coming maybe we need to prepare. My thoughts are interrupted by my beta Marcus strolling into my office like he owns it. " Can I help you, beta?" "Nah all good alpha just came for the good stuff," he says while walking to my liquor cabinet, going straight for my best whiskey. Marcus and i grew up togther and have always been best friends so he was the obvious choice when came to picking my beta when i became alpha after my father was killed in a rouge atack when i was 19. Im now 24 and never would have been able to handle being alpha without marcus by my side. He pours two glasses and sits in front of my desk, handing me one glass. we both take a large drink. " You got an invitation to the RedRock packs alpha ceremony next month." I grimace at this news, the redrock pack is a good pack with a strong leader in alpha David but his son is an arrogant alpha that's only worried about his image and the the whole of the pack. " Do we have to go, Marcus? I can't stand that pup, and it's 4 hours away that's too long to be stuck in a car with with you". "Sorry alpha but we have an alliance with alpha David it would be disrespectful not to show" I roll my eyes and sigh I really hate leaving my pack but something in me knows I need to be there. " Alright, since I'm not disrespectful, I'm interrupted by Marcus's snort, but I continue like he did nothing."we will go down a week before to discuss continuing our alinace with Jackson as alpha. Notify Alpha David and start preparations. " Marcus stands and finishes his drink quickly. "Yes, alpha," he salutes me while smirking, I laugh, " get lost beta." Marcus laughs and then leaves my office. "Garrett, we have to go. something is there, i know it. I just don't know what." I take in Dom's words, and I have to agree something is there.
