RYDER PULLED UP in front of Thomas’s on his lunch break the next day. He knew Cat drove a garnet Subaru Forester so he searched the lot for it. He finally spotted it on the side of the building in what looked like employee parking. Ryder parked his Jeep close to it and headed inside. When he walked in the door he realized his assumption was wrong about Thomas’s. He expected a family restaurant, something laid back and casual. Instead he found about thirty tables, each settled into cozy nooks that made them feel private and romantic.
