Part 1

Eva loved Marco for three years. Every smile from him made her heart race, even though he never truly noticed her.

But Nathen did.

Nathen was always there beside her. He remembered her favorite coffee, waited for her after school, and cared about her more than anyone else. Everyone knew he loved her deeply.

Except Eva only loved Marco.

One afternoon, Eva finally gathered the courage to confess her feelings to Marco outside a café.

“Marco… I like you,” she whispered nervously.

Before he could answer, a beautiful girl walked over and held his arm.

Marco smiled awkwardly. “Eva, this is Lina… my girlfriend.”

Eva felt her heart shatter instantly.

She ran out into the street, trying not to cry.

“Eva!” Nathen called as he chased after her. “What happened?”

“Leave me alone!” she shouted.

Nathen stepped closer worriedly. “Please calm down—”

“All of this is because of you!” she cried. “I don’t love you, Nathen! I love Marco!”

In anger, she threw her iced coffee at him.

The drink splashed across his shirt. Nathen stood there silently, hurt visible in his eyes.

After a painful silence, he whispered softly,

“…I know.”

Then he walked away into the rain alone.
