Welcome to the City of Stories! I hope you're all doing well… Please take a moment to leave a comment! 🥰 Previously, we saw… In the darkness of the night—though they say Mumbai never sleeps—crime still finds a way to creep in. And to dominate these nights of crime, the Red Twilight mafia gang had established itself as the most powerful force in the underworld. "The location for the drug deal planned by Thakur's men at 3 AM has been changed." Shiv, a well-known name in the world of crime—tough in appearance, equally tough in his voice—was around 28 years old. He was the closest and most trusted man of Red Tiger, the head of the Red Twilight gang. "If they change the location, you change your approach." Red Tiger said before walking away. Shiv understood what needed to be done. But everyone here has a past. What is their past? Who really is Red Tiger? Will Anisha's life always remain like this? What happened between Shaurya and Manik? Now moving forward… Anisha stood by the window of her room, gazing at the moon. Even at midnight, sleep eluded her. In fact, she struggled with insomnia and had to take pills just to get a few hours of rest. "People think I'm fire, but I'm just ashes inside. Some call me stone-hearted, some say I'm ruthless, But no one knows my pain—I was once as soft as a flower." Memories from her childhood haunted her, ones she could never forget no matter how hard she tried. After all, no criminal is born a criminal; it's the world that pushes them toward crime, only to condemn them later. "You're still awake? Didn't take your sleeping pill?" Veer Maheshwari—Anisha’s childhood friend and the only one who stayed by her side despite the changes in her life—spoke as he entered the room. Veer’s father was a well-known businessman, but the two never got along, so Veer mostly stayed with Anisha. "Get to the point. What are you doing in my room at this hour?" Anisha cut straight to the chase. "I… I need 10 million rupees." Veer hesitated before blurting it out quickly. "What? But why?" Anisha was surprised, though she had an idea of what this was about. "It's for my friend's mother. Her life is in danger." Veer spoke so fast, as if he had rehearsed it multiple times. "And why should I give the money? If your friend’s mother is in danger, how does that benefit me?" Anisha raised an eyebrow. "At least fear Mahakal! You’re so shameless, looking for personal gain even in someone’s suffering. A mother’s life is at risk!" Veer dramatically pleaded. "Oh? So, these funds aren’t actually for Menaka?" Anisha sat on the sofa, watching Veer’s reaction. Veer was stunned. "H-How do you know?" Anisha smirked. "Because your future mother-in-law was just here, putting on quite a show for her daughter." "Mom was here? So… did you give her the money?" Veer asked, worried. Anisha squinted at him, making him grin nervously. "So, you didn’t give it to her. But you’ll give it to me, right? My dear friend?" Veer made a cute face, but Anisha was unfazed. "And why do you think that?" She rested her chin on her hand. Veer's smile faded. "Are you seriously not going to help your friend? This is about my future wife’s career! If she doesn’t pay up, the production house might sue her. She could even end up in jail! What kind of person are you?" Veer whined like a child. Veer was deeply in love with Menaka, Anisha’s cousin. Their engagement was already done, and Menaka loved him too, though she wasn’t very smart. If Veer had been just Anisha’s friend, Menaka’s mother, Urmila, would never have approved of the marriage, nor would the Singhania family. But Veer was the only son and heir to his father’s business empire. "Fine, I'll give you the money—but on one condition." Veer stared at her in disbelief. This woman was so cunning! "Do you even know what shame is, or did you sell it to buy a hotel? You betrayed my mom yesterday, and now you're setting conditions? Unbelievable!" Veer pouted, clearly frustrated. "Oh? Then go tell the police I’m the bad guy here and not your devious mother." Anisha popped a sleeping pill and lay down. "Fine! I accept your condition!" Veer stomped his foot angrily. Anisha smiled, satisfied. --- Flashback – A Day Earlier Anisha was in her study when a servant arrived. "Madam, your aunt is here to see you." "That fox? What is she doing here?" Anisha muttered before stepping out. Urmila was waiting for her in the living room, sitting comfortably on the sofa. "Oh, Anisha, dear! How are you? Look at you, you've lost so much weight! You should eat well, or better yet, come home—I’ll feed you myself!" Urmila’s voice dripped with fake sweetness. Anisha almost laughed at the overacting. "Spare me, or I might get diabetes. Just get to the point, or I’m leaving—I have work to do. Unlike some people, I’m not jobless." Urmila clenched her fists but forced a smile. She had no choice—no one in the family was willing to fund Menaka’s dreams. "Hahaha… You’re so funny, dear. I just came for a small favor. See, just like you made a name for yourself, Menaka also wants to make it big in Bollywood. But the director is demanding money. I need 6 million rupees for her. You understand, don’t you? No one supported you either, and now they’re refusing Menaka as well. But as a mother, I can’t give up!" Urmila acted heartbroken. "Oh, how touching! My eyes are welling up!" Anisha said sarcastically. "Fine, I’ll give you the money—but only if you sign a contract and record a video stating you’ll pay me back. Who knows, you might just disappear with my money." Urmila fumed but knew she was cornered. She had no choice but to agree. She took the check and left. As soon as she was gone, Anisha made a call. "Take back the check from the bank. Make sure it gets rejected at the exact moment when someone from Aviraaj Productions tries to cash it. Understood?" A sinister smile crept onto her lips. Anisha was too clever, and she never left behind evidence. --- Flashback Ends "No money given, but I secured a debt contract. And now Veer will do my work willingly." Anisha whispered as her eyes started closing—the sleeping pill was kicking in. Meanwhile, Veer went to bed, still fuming at her. He had cursed her countless times today. But what exactly was Anisha’s condition? Why was Veer so troubled? Is Anisha really as bad as she seems? To find out, keep reading… With me, KJ! to be countinue.........
