Lucian’s POV “Doctor Lucian… these are the list of appointments you have today,” Bella purred as she handed it to me, her finger purposefully grazing me. I gritted my teeth, rage burning through my veins. “Leave.” Nurse Bella sighed and walked slowly towards the door, swaying her hips like she always does. “Foolish girl, she is not as beautiful as Mae, and she thinks she could seduce me?” I scanned through the list of appointments she handed me as I leaned back on my seat. The list blurred as a fresh volt of anger shot through my veins, making my eyes red with fury. “Ugh!!” I dumped the file on the table as I got up. The thought of Mae had brought back bitter memories. How she made me lose everything… I hate her so much. After that video, the board of directors blamed me for indulging Mae to steal from the company, because of our affair. They forced me to step down so it would not affect the image of the company and Ryker took over. Ryker? Who knew nothing about the sacrifices I had made to bring the company to the level it was. I had to follow my dream of becoming a doctor. I moved from the city and through my sweat I have built this great institution, St. Lucian’s Medic. Weird name, I know. But the fact was that Mae was responsible for everything, I searched for her back in the city, I didn’t find her, till I changed cities. It has been almost seven years now, and the pain in my heart is still fresh whenever I recall her name. Mae Wildermore, my nemesis. A knock sounded on the door, as I turned, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I don’t look like the Lucian I used to be. my grown blonde beards make me almost unrecognizable. I sighed and walked to my chair, “Come in.” A child poked his head in through the door. I raised a brow. “Hey, young man,” I smiled at me He raised a brow as he walked in followed by his parents, then he sat on the chair, the energy of the room, instantly becoming lively as he smiled back. “Good day, Doctor.” he greeted, then his parents joined in. “Good day,” I smiled, my eyes on the child. I stretched out my hand to shake him and he took mine. My heart raced as I held his hand, I locked eyes with him. Why does he look oddly familiar? He looked a bit like… me. His smile, his eyes, his hair… I mean… s**t what am I thinking? I let go of him quickly as I looked at his parents. “What is the problem?” “I feel sick,” he jumped in. I smirked at him. “You don’t look sick though… you are a strong boy.” He giggled. “Yes… I am strong like my Mama.” My eyes danced to the pretty tough looking brunette standing beside him and I nodded. “Yes… just like your Mama.” I looked at his father, he looked spanish, he was huge and tall. Why didn’t he use his father as an example? He looked stronger obviously. I sighed and shook the thoughts off my head. “May I know your name?” “Fabian Willy,” he replied. “Willy?” I asked him with a raised brow. He nodded. “Well it’s something else, but it’s too long and I prefer to be called Fabian Willy.” I chuckled as I looked at his parents, they shrugged and I went ahead to fill in his name on his file. “Come with me, Champ,” I took his hand and headed to the checkup room. In ten minutes we were done and we came back. “He has just a fever, take these drugs and follow this prescription and he will be just fine in a few days.” “Thanks Doctor,” His mother replied and took the drugs from me. His father took his hand. “Bye… doctor,” he said, wearing a smirk and I winked at him. “Get well soon.” I closed the door, as I turned to go back to the seat, when I saw a locket laying on the floor. Puzzled, I picked it up, and opened it. “Mae?” my heart throbbed as I stared at Mae and I in the picture, on the other side of the locket was a picture of the diamond ring I got her. The locket slipped out of my shaky finger as I staggered back, pressing my back on the wall, struggling to breathe. “MAE? WHO BROUGHT THIS HERE?” Does someone know about my past? Is it Bella? Does she want to blackmail me so I would give in to her demands? I felt a pang drive through my chest, the moment I thought it was Mae. Was she back to finish me off from where she’d left me? A knock on the door made me flinch, my chest heaved as I reached for the knob. Who will it be? Mae? I had been so eager to see Mae, and punish her for all she had done, but right now that there’s a possibility of her being behind this door, a cold feeling of dread crept into my chest. Why? Do I fear her or do I fear the way I become around her? I held my breath as I pulled the door open. Fabian was standing there, he had a sad look on his face. I took a deep breath when I saw him. “What is it, Fabian?” He entered my office. “I lost something.” His gaze fell on the locket and he rushed it from the ground. “This.” he shook his head in relief. My heart tripled its beats. “Is that yours?” “No… it’s my Mama’s” he opened the locket and said, “This is my Mama.” I staggered back. My fingers were shaking as I pointed at the man in it, “Who is he?” “My Papa.” My heart stopped. Fabian is my son.
