Chapter 13: The Help
I looked up with a start, and everyone else fell silent at the sudden sound. That female student had just turned her head, and when she saw Ivy and Lydia, her face instantly turned pale.
Ivy stepped forward, glanced at me, and a flash of anger appeared in her eyes.
She walked over, shoved the group of female students aside with one hand, and shot them a cold glare.
The two female students exchanged wary glances, took a step back, and then gently tugged at their friend's sleeve as a signal. But that stubborn female student showed no fear at all. She crossed her arms, raised her chin defiantly at Ivy, and spoke first.
"What's this? Here to protect your useless little sister?"
Ivy looked at her, her expression darkening as her hands clenched into fists. Ivy was quite good at controlling her expressions, so many people couldn't tell what she was thinking.
However, I had lived with her for so many years. Even though her expression wasn't obvious, I could still tell she was holding back anger that was about to explode.
Ivy tilted her head, curled her lips into a faint smile, and fired back.
"You seem very free. Whether Julia is weak or strong has nothing to do with a stranger like you, does it?"
Lydia, standing nearby, let out a cold snort and said in a mocking tone.
"Looks like the beastly side in you is too strong, can't hold it back, so you go around biting people like a rabid dog."
Those words from Lydia made the female student's face go pale, and everyone around burst into laughter.
Ivy was the strongest Alpha in the Pack, and at the academy, she was also someone with outstanding achievements. Her strength earned her admiration from many, and at the same time, jealousy from many others.
This female student was one of those jealous people. Since she couldn't beat Ivy with her own weak strength, all she could do was vent her anger on me, someone who looked exactly like Ivy. Almost all the people who came to bully me shared the same mindset, seeking a sense of victory to replace their own feelings of helplessness and failure.
What surprised me was Lydia. Since she moved in, she had never looked at me or spoken to me. Yet today, she actually stood up to speak for me. That was truly unexpected.
Even if she was just going along with Ivy and helped out casually, it was still a huge favor to me.
Lydia glanced at me, still with that look of disgust and disdain.
The female student was furious at Lydia's words, and she couldn't hold back anymore, baring her fangs and waving her claws, screaming like a madwoman.
"Ivy Taylor, don't think you're so great just because you're the strongest in the Pack. Isn't your skill supposed to be amazing? If you're so capable, then go make your sister a little less useless!"
She arrogantly stepped forward, shoved Ivy hard on the shoulder, and yelled loudly.
"Say something! Are you embarrassed too? Having a weak Omega for a sister must be humiliating for you, right? The Taylor Pack doesn't seem so impressive after all!"
I gritted my teeth. Her insulting me was one thing, but dragging the Pack into it was no different from directly provoking Ivy.
Ivy was silent for a moment, then threw her head back and laughed. She tilted her head and looked at the female student with sharp eyes. In an instant, Ivy grabbed the female student by the collar, her strength completely overwhelming.
Ivy glared and said through gritted teeth.
"Get the hell out of my sight before I bite that neck of yours clean off, you b***h!"
At the same time, Monica, who had been following behind them, peeked out to check the situation and then scurried over to me. She took a handkerchief from her pocket and gently wiped the food stains off me. Monica whispered to me softly.
"Are you okay? Let's hurry back to the dorm."
I glanced up at Ivy and Lydia, they were still locked in a heated argument with that group of female students. Clearly, they had come to help me out of trouble. Leaving like this made me feel a bit uneasy.
"Is it really okay? They're arguing over there. We should probably intervene a little..."
Monica shook her head and pulled me along, saying.
"No need. They'll handle things themselves. Let's head back first."
Monica and I left together.I turned my head to look back and still saw them arguing fiercely. When I returned to the room, Monica told me to go take a shower and get a good night's sleep, and I would forget everything. After I finished showering and came out, Ivy and Lydia had already returned.
Ivy glanced at me with a look that was both angry and helpless, she just let out a long sigh and then turned and left. Lydia didn't pay any attention to me either, after coming back she climbed onto the bed to do her own thing.
I know the two of them are very angry that I am too weak and always get bullied without being able to fight back. Even though they act cold, in reality they still care about me and are willing to stand up and protect me.
Truly, from the bottom of my heart I am very grateful to the two of them.
It's just that this thank-you is something I don't know when I'll ever be able to say out loud.
Monica pushed the door open and walked in, holding a portion of hot food in her hands, she handed it to me discreetly. She winked and said to me.
"Eating something warm will make you feel better! You haven't eaten anything yet, right?"
I took it and nodded slightly to thank Monica, then turned around and walked out to the balcony to sit and eat, feeling suffocated and choked up inside, tears just on the verge of falling. Clearly I haven't done anything wrong, why do all the bad things keep happening to me?
Is being born weak my fault?
But I have never once asked anyone to bring me into this world, so why am I the only one who has to endure everything?
Suddenly the door opened, startling me, and I hurriedly wiped away my tears. It turned out to be Monica, she also stepped out onto the balcony and handed me a glass of water.
I smiled and said softly.
"Thank you for treating me gently. Actually, you didn't have to do that, those people will drag you into this meaningless bullying."
Monica sat down beside me, shook her head, and replied.
"I'm not helping you out of pity. I also have a younger brother, he's an Omega just like you. In the Pack, he's always looked down upon and has to live quietly as if he never existed."
Monica's voice choked up a little, she took a deep breath and then spoke softly.
"Julia, life as an Omega is really terrible, isn't it?"
