The party ended immediately. It was just a small gathering of the pack just to acknowledge their Luna. I was happy. I had so much fun. I never thought I would actually feel this happiness after losing hope years ago.

To be honest, I was like a walking robot back then. I had no emotions, I do not feel pain. I feel numb. It took me years to fully recover. It was really hard to pick up the broken pieces of your spirit and emotion.

What I learned based on my experience— it was really hard to fix a broken spirit. It was like I needed to be reborn again to get back on my feet because I seriously didn't have any idea on how to help myself.

I was alone this whole time. I only have myself and my wolf, nothing more. I didn't have someone to lean on. I am alone and I feel alone. It really sucks to be me, I know.

Until this day happened. Zadkiel happened. When I first saw him, it felt like a new door is opening for me. It felt like a new light was coming on my way. He showed me another hope and another reason to stay alive in this f****d up world. If I hadn't met him, I would've let myself get captured by the officials.

Zadkiel gave me my room. He said we will only share a room if I permitted him and if I already adjusted to this place. He is really thoughtful. He is always asking about my opinions though it seems like he always wants to have the authority. That must be an Alpha instinct. It can not be helped. He was a born Alpha a few all.

I didn't know what did I do these past few years because the Moon goddess gave me such a man. I couldn't ask for more. Zadkiel is more than enough for me.

Despite that, I still feel troubled and afraid of what to may bring. I am a wanted hybrid. Everyone wants to kill me and I am sure they would touch Zadkiel and his pack if necessary. That's how desperate they are. They want to get rid of me that badly.

"Still awake?"

I looked at my side and saw Zadkiel laying on my bed. This sneaky Alpha. "I can't sleep."

"Why? Is there something troubling you?" He asked as he brushed my hair using his fingers gently.

"After how many years, I finally have a bed to sleep in. It just feels so new to me," I answered. That's half true. This feeling is new to me since I got used to sleeping under the tree for how many years. I didn't want to trouble Zadkiel with my issues. He looks so happy today, I didn't wanna ruin the mood.

"Are you aware that I can feel if you're telling the truth or not?"

I smiled awkwardly and laid down beside him. He pulled me closer as he let my head rest on his arms. "They are still after my life. They won't stop until they finally kill me. You will be in trouble because of me. I don't want that."

He tucked my hair behind my ears as he showed me his smile. "Haven't I told you? We are ready to fight for you. We are ready to fight with you. No one is going to die. They won't be able to touch you because you're under my care now. They won't dare... Unless they have the guts and strength to do so."

"I just can't stop thinking about it. This is the first time that I found someone so dear to me. I don't want to waste this chance and I don't want to lose you either. I want to stay with you forever," I said and smiled. I don't know if it's my wolf's thought or whatever, but I do know that this is how I truly feel.

Zadkiel showed me the light— no. Zadkiel is my light. This isn't about the bond and the mate thing anymore. This is my heart talking.

"You won't lose me and I won't lose you. We will live until the very end. If you die, I die. That's it," he said and he kissed my forehead gently. "Rest now. I will show you around the place tomorrow."

I didn't answer him, instead, I closed my eyes and let the darkness embrace me.

MORNING came and I was dressed properly. I am with Zadkiel and he is showing me around the place. His pack land is huge and the people here are very approachable and kind. They would always smile at me whenever they see me.

"Alpha!"

I looked at the guy who made his way towards us. This guy looks very cheerful and playful. This guy is a noisy type. I can tell by his presence.

"What?" Zadkiel asked in a bored tone. It looks like he doesn't want to talk with this guy.

"You're surprisingly early today!" He exclaimed as he played with his brows.

"And you're telling me that because?"

"Because you're always late and this is so—" he stopped talking when he noticed me standing beside Zadkiel. His eyes widened and he immediately bowed his hand. "Luna!"

He must be Zadkiel's beta. I heard his voice before, back in the forest.

I smiled awkwardly at him. "Hey?"

"It's nice to meet you, our gorgeous Luna!" He said cheerfully but his smile faded when Zadkiel looked at him with his blue eyes.

"Don't you dare talk to her that casually," Zadkiel said in a cold voice. He can easily change his mood and his tone of voice. Is that some kind of talent? I want to learn that too.

"Chill, okay? I wasn't planning to do anything with her!" He defended himself. "I'm Xenon, by the way, my lady."

My eyes widened when a wall of ice appeared in front of us making Xenon's face disappear from our sight. I chuckled. "Are you jealous?"

"I am. That shithead is a piece of s**t who loves to play games. I don't want you to become one of his pawns or whatever," he said. I laughed at him that's why he made a frowning face.

"Don't laugh at me, baby."

My wolf was dancing inside me when I heard what Zadkiel called me. I bit my lower lip to surpass a smile. He knows how to play with words.

"Hey. Don't act so cheesy in front of me. Seriously, man. I'm jealous," Xenon said and held his chest dramatically. Zadkiel rolled his eyes when Xenon breaks his ice.

"Just be jealous. That can not be helped," Zadkiel said. Xenon scoffed before his face change. His expression suddenly became serious.

"I have important news," Xenon started.

"Can it wait?" Zadkiel asked but Xenon shared his head.

"No. This is about Vexana," Xenon replied. Zadkiel immediately turned serious and I just remained in my place. s**t. This is what I'm talking about. They'll be in trouble because of me.

"What about her?" Zadkiel has a scary aura around him and his voice is really scary.

"The news about her being mated with you spread like wildfire around the place. There two possibilities here so listen up," Xenon said and snapped her fingers.

A barrier surrounded us. It suddenly felt quiet. It feels like we have been shut down from the outside world. This magic is amazing.

"First. Other pursuers might stop because they are afraid of you and because you're the highest-ranked wolf. The second is, there might still be pursuers so let's be careful and let's be resilient," Xenon explained.

I suddenly felt a pang on my chest. The first one might be good to hear but the second one is still troubling. Zadkiel seemed to be in deep thinking.

"You don't have to feel guilty, Vexana. The goddess chose you so there might be a reason for this," he said and smiled. "Just always remember that whatever happens, we will always be on your side. We will always fight with you and Zadkiel. You are now part of our pack. You are now our Luna and protecting you si the basic job."
