Contract Signing

A sophisticated young lady comes out of the Emerald Tower located in the heart of Makati City. She wears a haltered pure white fitted knee-length dress that matches her 3-inch high crystal hills. As she walks fast, her long, slightly curled brown hair flies with the wind. Though she wears sunglasses, people can see how beautiful Kyle is. Following behind her was Jenny, her personal assistant. Both of them are walking towards the black Bentley Continental GT. Kyle sits in the driver's seat while Jenny sits beside her.

[Kyle] Did you bring all the documents?

[Jenny] I did! Let me remind you to drive safely.

Kyle answers Jenny with a malicious smile. Jenny knows what it means. As a personal assistant, she also drives for Kyle, but today there is an exemption. Jenny knows that something is bothering Kyle as she always drives to release her stress. The meeting place was supposed to be a 45-minute drive from Emerald Tower, but they arrived 25 minutes earlier.

[Jenny] Tell me if you’re ready to talk about it.

[Kyle] I will. Let’s finish this quickly.

[Jenny] I’m sure there will be no problem.

Both of them enter Arizona Seafood Restaurant in Antipolo. The waiter greeted them and guided them to the private room.

[Johnny] Good afternoon, Ms. Kyle.

[Kyle] Good afternoon, Johnny.

[Johnny] We will start to serve the starters. Please come inside. Mr. Tom and two other people are waiting for you.

[Kyle] Thanks Johnny.

Inside the room was Tom, together with the Accounts Manager and Project Director of Global Corporation, the leading real estate company in the Philippines.

[Tom] You always amaze me with your elegance, Kyle!

[Kyle] We’re signing the contract now. Tom, no need to bother pleasing me with your sweet tongue.

[Tom] I’m not kidding, and you know it. By the way, this is Mr. Lao and Mr. Shai.

Kyle shakes hands with the two gentlemen and sits beside Tom. While starters are being served, they start the contract signing. Kyle wants to open a new branch of Emerald Jewels in Antipolo with the help of Global Corporation.

[Tom] Thank you again for trusting our company to build your 30th branch here in the Philippines.

[Kyle] I should be the one to thank you. I believe there’s only 5% left on your patience.

[Tom] Common! I’ve known you since high school, Kyle! Everybody knows your temper.

[Kyle] Hey Tom! Stop teasing me, or else.

[Tom] Sorry, beautiful lady, it’s my fault. Please don’t tell Diane. We’re still not okay, and it’s been a week now.

[Kyle] Okay, fine. It serves you right!

Kyle and Tom were high school classmates. They always tease each other, but they are good friends. While having lunch, they talked about the design and plans for the upcoming 30th branch of Emerald Jewels. Tom is an outstanding architect in the country; that is why Kyle entrusted this project to him.

[Kyle] This project is special to me and my Mom. Please make sure that the interior and ambiance of the place feel like home.

[Tom] Leave it to me, Kyle. We will personally oversee this project.

[Kyle] Thanks Tom! Don’t worry, I will say good words to my best friend later.

[Tom] I cannot trust your words, Kyle. I know you’re on your best friend’s side.

[Kyle] Good, you know it!

Both of them laugh and continue discussing the project. After lunch, they bid goodbye to each other. Jenny drives the car, going back to the Emerald Tower.

[Jenny] Do you feel better now?

[Kyle] Yeah! I trust Tom’s capabilities. Plus, I like the initial plan and designs.

[Jenny] You are stressing yourself about nothing.

[Kyle] This is for Mommy, my present for her 50th Birthday.

[Jenny] I’m happy for you, Kyle. I’m sure Aunt will be pleased about this.

[Kyle] Keep it from her for now.

The moment Kyle enters Emeralds Tower, a beautiful young girl runs towards her. She’s wearing a pink dress and a headband with a ribbon.

[Abigail] Mommy! Mommy!

[Kyle] How many times have I told you, beautiful young lady, not to run?

[Abigail] Mommy, you’re late! You said you'd take me to the mall and we would play paintball.

[Kyle] Sorry, baby girl, we can still go there if you want.

[Abigail] Really? Let’s go now, Mommy!

[Kyle] Jenny, bring all the documents to my office, then prepare yourself for this naughty girl.

[Jenny] Alright! You can change clothes now. I’ll take care of Abigail.

Kyle went up to the Penthouse of Emerald Tower. When she opens the door, she immediately changes her shoes to typical indoor slippers. She walks directly to the pantry to grab water from the fridge. Then she went up to her room. Her room was designed elegantly. It has a green wall with all pure white furniture. She walks to her huge closet and chooses a plain white v-neck shirt. She also wears denim jeans and white rubber shoes. She grabs another sunglasses that cover her beautiful Hazel eyes. She has a pointed nose that matches her heart-shaped pinkish lips. As she walks out of her room, she hears Abigail

rants to Jenny.

[Abigail] Aunt Jenny, I will beat you today!

[Jenny] Let’s see who will win this time.

[Abigail] That would be me, for sure!

[Kyle] Wow! From where are you getting this confidence, baby girl?

[Abigail] Of course you will partner with me, Mommy. And we will beat Aunt Jenny.

The three of them laughed and went out of the room. While on the lift, someone calls Kyle.

[Kyle] Hey Tom! Is there something we missed?

[Tom] I forgot to mention the reunion. Please come and bring Diane with you!

[Kyle] You know that I'm a busy person, Tom. But, I will try to come with Diane.

[Tom] Remove the word try. Please help me with your best friend. That is the only way I can see her, as she's hiding from me.

[Kyle] Okay, okay. We're coming! Send me the date and location.

[Tom] You are the best, Kyle!

Kyle hung up the phone and dialed Diane’s number.

[Kyle] Bez, free your schedule next week.

[Diane] Where are we going this time?

[Kyle] We will attend the reunion in Zambales.

[Diane] Are you sick or something? You are allergic to those people.

[Kyle] It’s okay. We will just show up and make our itinerary.

[Diane] DIY? Love it! I will prepare OOTD for you and myself. Don't bring any clothes, okay?

[Kyle] I know what you're thinking. I will not model for your new collections, okay?

[Diane] Please help me, Kyle. You know that my creations become better if you are my model.

[Kyle] I don't have any option. I'll just bring my new jewellery collection. I hope it will fit your designs.

[Diane] Then, it’s settled.
