It didn’t help that I knew for a fact plenty of them hadn’t either—not the kind of fleet engagements we were training for. Even within my own flight, I was considered the outsider simply because I still believed in Hunter. I didn’t even think about it before barging into Hunter’s office after the last debriefing. I was frustrated and I was hurt, and I didn’t know what else to do.
