Chapter 45 - Field TripTwo yellow buses lined up at Balancing Rock Elementary School. Everyone was excited about the field trip as the second grade students milled around the front of the school building beside the buses, waiting to be told to board.
Anna Bristol went on her tiptoes to hug her mother.
“Now stay with your group, Anna,” her mother said.
“I will,” Anna promised.
Anna's teacher, Mrs. Bennett, called out. “My class! Over here! Anna?” Mrs. Bennett's eyes caught Mrs. Bristol's.
“Your teacher is calling you,” her mother said.
“Okay,” Anna said. She twirled and dashed away, her pigtails bouncing with every step. “Bye!” She waved back at her mother.
“Love you!” Mrs. Bristol said, waving.
