Chapter 33 - The RideI could not believe what a gorgeous day it was. I'd never have believed it was November, except that the aspen trees were pretty bare. The sky was crystal blue. Bluer than any blue imagined. And it must have been seventy-five out as Chris led me to his bike in the garage. Because I didn't trust it would be warm, I wore my long coat. Rick had advised me—in a clandestine way in the hall—to take my dagger along. “Why?” I'd asked. “Vampires won't be out until dark.” “Demons can come out any time, day or night,” he'd said. “Didn't think of that.” But I had decided that I couldn't strap the thing on underneath the coat and try to hide the fact I had a dagger strapped to my hip. What if I wanted to take the coat off? And we'd be going to a restaurant later. I didn't know
