ADELINE'S POV
I was finally able to get my dad to go back home after two days of convincing him and making him trust that I could handle things on my own. I knew he hated Xavier already and there was no way I was going to let both of them stay alone until I had gotten what I wanted from Xavier.
However, he didn't leave me completely alone. He left me with his bodyguards–about five of them, including his most trusted man, Luke, a marriage contract that allowed Xavier to be mine for three months–and forever, if I could make him fall in love with me. He also left me with the aura of the Luthers: exactly what I needed to let Xavier know that Evelyn no longer existed.
“He is at the local club, Adeline. The command is yours to give and we'll move once you're ready,” Luke informed me. I've known him since I was younger and their was more familiarity to the act of formality he was exhibiting
I applied the maroon red lipstick which was the exact hue of my knee-length bodycon gown, took my purse, gave him the legal papers and stood to leave.
“Let the night begin,” I replied, while he smirked in response. Damn! I couldn't lie at all. I missed Adeline Luther so badly.
I made my way out of the hotel where the door of a Range Rover White Swan was already held open for me. After taking elegant steps inside the car, everyone got into their positions and we drove into the busy night.
The car came to a halt in front of the club where Xavier currently was, and for strange reasons, I began to feel nervous. Luke seemed to have noticed and asked if I was ready for the night. I nodded slightly before getting out.
“After you, then,” he stepped back in defeat when I gestured for him to let me take the lead.
We walked straight in to the VIP rooms, ignoring the loud music and ogling sights from s*x hungry and perverted men. Considering my status, it was that easy to pass the tight security in the club and get Xavier's room card from who I wouldn’t really call a receptionist. I checked Xavier's room number again on the card I was holding, stopping Luke and two others from following me inside.
Did I need to knock? No I didn't. Would I be able to get in? Of course, the door was already open. Was there a need to interrupt them? Not necessarily. Was I hurt by the sight of Xavier burying his face in between a blonde's legs? Not at all, he had proven to be a d**k countless times. Did I still love him? Maybe no, maybe yes.
I cleared my throat to let the two lost souls know that someone was watching, but they were to busy to notice my presence. Xavier had the blonde-haired girl in cloud nine with his fingers pounding inside and outside of her while his lips tickled the sweet spot on her neck. How could he know I was here?
She wasn't even moaning or whimpering from all the dirty things Xavier did to her. She was screaming and shaking under Xavier's touch until he thrusted into her without warning, making her arch her neck backwards in shock. Coincidentally, she looked in my direction with lazy eyes and lips that were trying so hard to contain a loud moan.
“Go away,” she giggled between her moans, while Xavier spinned her over, so that she was now laying on her stomach. His fist was lost somewhere in her messy hair, his free tattooed arm held her waist roughly, and his eyes were shot from the pleasure he felt each time her soaked body perfectly slammed against his thigh with each thrust he made.
Each moan that escaped her lips made me feel so cold that I almost forgot how to feel a thing. I should have been crying or yelling or lashing at Xavier and the slut he was mercilessly f*****g, but I just stood cold on the spot.
“Babe,” she whimpered, while Xavier mumbled something I couldn't hear. “Ask her to f*****g go away…” she trailed off amidst the quaking pleasure. I watched as she held on tightly to the sheets and as every vein in Xavier's body popped out while he kept going faster and faster until his last thrust. Afterwards, he collapsed on the bed beside her with his chest rising and falling from heavy pants.
“f**k!” He muttered the moment his eyes caught mine. “What the hell are you doing here and how did they even allow you in here!” He roared while slipping the dripping condom off of his d**k and putting on his sweatpants.
“Who is she?” The blonde girl managed to ask from her drained state. Not only was I not able to feel anything, I wasn't even able to find the right words to answer either of them.
“I'm talking to you Eve–”
“Adeline Luther,” I corrected coldly. “I am done playing Evelyn with you, Xavier. I am Adeline daughter of Derick Luther and you might not be burning in my father's wrath right now, but that doesn't guarantee you'd be spared for the last time.” I threatened.
The anger in his eyes melted into shock and confusion. It was then that he took in my new form–a hair I never paid attention to because I was so busy giving him my attention, a body I never showed off because I was trying to be his good girl, an outfit I never pulled off because I wanted him to believe that I was an ordinary girl and an aura I never exuded because I was too busy being Evelyn.
I snapped my fingers loud enough for Luke to come in. The blonde girl was intimidated by the sight of three men that physically overpowered Xavier. She shoved a robe on her naked body and ran out immediately.
“Your dad wants to speak with you,” Luke whispered into my left ear and I nodded for him to proceed. Already, my dad had told me that he would want to have a word with Xavier once I got to the club, so I wasn't surprised.
Luke switched to a video call and placed the laptop in the center of his room where everyone could not just hear but also see Derick Luther himself. Xavier's jaw dropped open at the sight on the screen, while my dad merely smirked at his reaction.
“I've heard a lot about you, little boy, and I can assure you that the only time I want to set my eyes on you is on your funeral,” my dad spoke through suppresed anger.
“I hope he didn't lay those filthy fingers on you, princess.”
“No dad. He wouldn't dare,” I responded, enjoying the pale look on Xavier's face.
“That contract is the only reason you're still able to move around freely, Xavier,” my dad continued while Luke proceeded to leave the document and a pen on the bed, very close to Xavier. “You already have an unsettled record and I'll advise you do everything in your power to sort it out. If he refuses to sign the document, you know what to do, Luke. The kid still has a huge price to pay for hurting my prescious jewel.” my dad said authoritatively before the screen went black.
Xavier gulped hard and murmured a few things to himself before picking the document.
“Mr Luther is a man of few words and I'll advise you don't test his patience.” Luke added when he saw the hesitation in his eyes.
He picked up the pen, and I guess he must have signed the papers before reading the agreements, as his lips started moving inaudibly after he had already dropped the pen. Three out of the top tiers are that he is not allowed to hurt a hair on my head. Secondly, he is not permitted to get physically initmate with any other woman; utmost loyalty to me as his partner and lastly, I had legal rights as his wife for the three months the contract lasted. However, if I wasn't not able to make him fall in love with me, I'd return home and his fate would be decided by my father.
“Adeline or Evelyn,” he called with tamed rage. “I'll never be able to fall in love with you,” he said through gritted teeth making me smirk in utmost pride.
“Love?” I chuckled, adding to the tension in the room. “Really, Xavier? There's no such thing as love in this. However I want you to see this three months of your life as a game. One I intend to win no matter the cost.”
