The afternoon crept on in the most luxurious way. Laying out, soaking the sun in our bones and then jumping into the water to cool off when we got too hot. Around 4pm Allie disappeared up to the house and came back carrying a tray with cocktails and snacks.
“Don’t tell me this is your day every day?” I laughed as we settled into our lounge chairs and sipped drinks. I really enjoyed getting to know her throughout the day.
She laughed “No, it’s not everyday. But summer up here is something special and we usually take the days a little more relaxed. It is not uncommon to cut out of work around 2pm.”
