"This will be your station," Sir Rene said, pointing to an empty desk near the side of the open office. It was beside several other workstations occupied by three women and a man—secretaries, judging by their posture and manner.
"Thank you, Sir Rene," I replied, keeping my voice steady even though I could already feel eyes watching me.
"To be clear," he added, lowering his voice slightly, "you're assigned to the Office of the CEO. But Sir Lance instructed that you can be pulled in by the Marketing Department whenever they need extra help, since it aligns with your course."
I nodded. "Yes, sir. I understand."
Inside, my chest tightened.
