  Alice   The resort was quiet—the kind of silence that felt deliberately made for just two people.   No sound of cars, no footsteps from strangers, no interruptions. Just the villa, the pool, and Lance and me. Even the wind seemed to move carefully, as if it didn't want to disturb us.   After we finished settling our things, we sat on opposite ends of the couch—not because there was distance between us, but because we were both still savoring the feeling that we were really here.   "Are you hungry?" he asked, glancing at his watch.   "A little," I answered. "You?"   "Always," he replied with a mischievous smile before walking toward the villa's spacious kitchen, but simple—just a fridge, a stove, and a counter. But somehow, it felt cozier than any expensive place I'd ever been to.
