My resolve almost broke at that moment as I looked into his eyes. He looked broken and in pain. As I looked at him, I almost lost all my will to continue. I just wanted to hug and console him. But I suddenly remembered his eyes when he spoke to me the night Sly was unconscious. I immediately shook my head to get rid of the stupid thoughts. “You can interpret them however you want. I am certain that I was clear with my words.” I turned and left the office before I would burst into tears.
