After I told Xander my plan, we discussed it and agreed it was a good plan. We immediately set it into motion. I mindlinked Stone and Tom and instructed them to gather everyone in the big hall.
As I was about to leave the room, Xander suddenly held me back by my arm. “I am a little worried. Dalia is new here; do you think it's a good idea to just put her out there without warning? That's like throwing her into the lion's den without warning and expecting her to survive without help.”
I could see the worry marks on his face. It was a reminder that even though he acted tough, he was still worried about our mate.
