I wasn't expecting the date to take the turn it did. We obviously underestimated our mate because she was human, but she just showed us how smart she is.
We were caught, and there was no point lying anymore. The only thing we could do at this point was say the truth because lying would only cause her to not trust me more. I was worried about how she would react, but I was more worried about the attack, so all I could think about at that moment was keeping her and the pack safe.
“Let's go,” Sly said to me. We changed into wolves and ran off. We were barely a few seconds away when I got a mindlink from the warriors we had ordered to take Dalia back to the house, saying that she had fainted after she saw us change into our wolves.
