My eyes jolted open, and I jumped up, panting and holding on to my heart. It felt like it was about to jump out of my chest.
“It's only a dream; it's just a dream,” I reminded myself. I chanted the words to allow it to sink into my consciousness.
I got up, entered the bathroom and immediately splashed water on my face. As the cold water hit my face, it helped me realise that I was no longer in that dream. But I could still hear the voice; it was the exact voice I heard during the rituals yesterday, but this time there was a tip of urgency in her voice.
