His howl, powerful, filled with a call of urgency. The forest and nature felt the awakening of a creature from such a thunder like howl, waking even the spinless of creatures, a howl that evokes much more than just a call of urgency but a warning of what is to come, causing the night birds to scatter into the air without an aim.
The howl echoed through the night, a deep, resonant sound that seemed to ripple across the land, reaching far beyond the forest. It carried with it a primal energy, a warning that stirred the very fabric of the world. Creatures that could hear the howl, with the help of their instincts felt unease. Even the wind seemed to hold its breath, the trees standing still as if listening intently.
In the village, Rose froze mid-step as the sound reached her ears. Her heart skipped a beat, and she clutched Jack tighter, the little dog whimpering softly in her arms. The howl was unlike anything she had ever heard powerful, ancient, and filled with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine. She turned her head toward the forest, her auburn eyes wide with a mix of fear and curiosity.
"Mother," she whispered, her voice trembling. "What was that? A wolf? We've not heard any wolf howl like that before."
Her mother’s expression darkened, and she quickly pulled Rose inside their hut, shutting the door firmly behind them. "It’s nothing," she said, her tone sharp and dismissive. But the tightness in her voice and the way her hands trembled as she bolted the door told a different story. "Make sure to stay in the hut and not far do you under?!" She asks but it sounded more like a command than a request. "I understand mother" Rose bows her head feeling guilty for what happened in the forest. Rose wanted to press further, to demand answers concerning what happened in the span of one evening, but raising her head to see the look in her mother’s eyes silenced her. There was a fear there, a deep, unspoken dread that Rose had never seen before. So she stayed quiet, her mind racing with questions she couldn’t voice. But a gut feeling tells her her mother knows something.
Outside, the howl faded into the night, but its impact lingered. In the forest, Xavier stood on the high rocks, his wolf form silhouetted against the moonlit sky. His golden fur shimmered in the pale light, his deep hazel eyes glowing with a dangerous intensity. The howl had been more than a call it had been a declaration like warning. The thought of who awakened him, he gazes down at the village, his thoughts returned to Rose. The little lamb (Rose) her auburn eyes and the courage to step into the unknown mischievous but frail. She was a mystery, one that intrigued him more than anything had in centuries. And now, with him awaken, the world left without him will rage in pain like what he had gone through.
Xavier’s lips curled into a faint smile, revealing sharp, gleaming teeth. "Rose," he murmured, her name rolling off his tongue like a secret. "You’ve awakened more than just me, little lamb. And soon, you’ll see that the world is far more dangerous-and far more beautiful-than you ever imagined."
With that, he turned and disappeared into the shadows of the forest, his form melting into the darkness as if he had never been there. But his presence lingered, a silent promise that he would return. The forest, him, now awake and alive with his energy, seemed to hum with anticipation. The barrier was gone, and with it, the fragile balance of what the witches kept as peace for 5years will stand on the thread of peace and danger.
Back in the hut, Rose sat by the fire, her mind still reeling from the events of the day. Jack lay curled up in her lap, his tiny body warm and comforting. But even as she stroked his fur, her thoughts kept drifting back to the forest, to the strange man with the deep hazel eyes, and to the howl that had shaken her to her core and gave her mother such a fright.
Having no idea what all that occurred would bring about, she felt her life would never be the same. The forest had called to her, and now, whether she wanted it or not, she was a part of a world she knows nothing of. And somewhere, out in everything, the strange man awaits
The night stretched on, the moon casting its silver light over the land. While from different areas coming towards the villages, wolves in ones and pairs rush with low growls. With excitement they ran, reaching the forest entrance, they all gathered and bowed. A tall figure walked towards them, his Dark hair waves with the wind, hazel eyes staring sharply scanning them. "To human form" his voice filled with authority and they all transformed to their human forms with heads bowed. "Gloff" he called out his gaze staring at the small hut a distance away. "Yes your highness" Gloff brings himself to a few feet from Xavier “how long has it been?" He asks. With sharp ears, one can hear the grinding of teeth, knowing Xavier was in rage just asking this. "Five years"... 'Five years' Xavier whispers. Scanning his gaze ones more, making them tremble from how fierce and burning those hazel eyes are. “Rise” "There are 50 of you. Where is Draco?"... Silence filled the surroundings.
"Where is his?!" Xavier growls in anger. His eyes burning, an overwhelming aura that frightened them all, causing them to fall on the knees. The expressions on their faces say’s otherwise. He raises his head to look in the direction of the moon and murmurs "Draco my brother. I will avenge you."
"Rise we must prepare for the battle ahead. I give you on till the first blood moon to be ready." "Leave". A quick glance at Gloff, "come with me". With soft and powerful steps, he walks towards the small hut.
The other men dispersed, leaving Gloff to face the raging Alpha.
