Maybe if I just stared at that adorable smile painted on his face a second longer, he would not notice. With cheek rested on my palm, my gaze never darted away even for a second. I kept looking at his softy black curls bouncing every time he dribbled the basketball across court behind his house, carefully pushing through his brother's defense.
"Blake is such cutie, right?" Lola, stated joining me on the shade outside her house. Her house sat across the street from Blake's house.
"Maybe," I dropped my gaze to the Snow White novel on my lap.
It was hard to concentrate on the novel when Blake's sweet laugh proved to be a distraction.
"You know you can look. He'll never notice," Lola chuckled grabbing a handful of fries from the plate.
"I'm not looking," I denied but that is all I ever did even after he moved to our neighborhood, to the vacant home across ours.
I watched him grow into the hunky, tattooed bad boy of Winter Town and the captain of the school's basketball team.
