“No wolf?” His deep voice called out slow and curious. Selene stood frozen as the male moved silently toward her, his eyes the only part she could make out as they pierced through the darkness. As she made her eyes meet his, she became certain of one thing: He was NOT from Silver Lake. Fear bit Selene, but she fought past it and held her ground. “Where is yours?” She tried to sound as callous as he had. He let out a small gnarl as he stalked closer, but cut it off quickly. As he watched her, his eyes seemed to be considering something. “A constant drip?” He questioned. What an odd thing to say or ask. Was it a threat? Raving? Perhaps this is a rogue that has gone ill. Selene didn’t respond. But backed up a few steps. He countered by coming closer. With him this close, she could finally scent him. Definitely a wolf, but not in his wolf form. Where was the patrol? How did he make it onto pack lands undetected? He asked another strange question, “A burning rip?” What was he talking about? Selene stood cautious but asked softly, “Do you need help?” He continued to get closer, still searching over her with those moonlit eyes. He was now within a few paces of her. If he shifted, Selene wouldn’t even have time to scream for help before he reached her. She backed away a few steps, trying to create some distance. His next question paralyzed her, “Bledsoe?” Bledsoe. That was her name, her last name. How does this strange rogue know her name? But before she could even respond she saw the male’s eyes widen, and then he charged straight for her.
